Summary
The ideal candidate will have an outstanding attitude and be motivated to ensure the member, guest, and passenger experience are above expectations while always keeping safety awareness in mind. This individual must have a passion to serve and be flexible with the constant day-to-day activities that arise. Under the supervision of the Marina Dockmaster, the Assistant Marina Dockmaster is instrumental in assisting with the daily operation of our Marina. They must possess strong leadership qualities as they will be managing multiple marina positions.
Essential Functions
Job duties include, although are not limited to:
Customer Service- Very high expectations to provide our resort Members and guests with memorable experiences. Quick problem-solving skills required in a Marina Management position.
Computer Skills- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) proficient. Will need to be trained on various hotel/marina software. Able to complete any computer tasks given in an efficient manner.
Routinely operate our fleet of resort vessels.
Coast Guard Regulations- Knowledgeable on all regulations and safety drills needed to operate a Commercial vessel.
Mechanical Experience- Will be called upon to help troubleshoot any issues we are having with our fleet of resort vessels. Minor work, including oil changes, prop changes, adjusting fluid levels, etc.
Boat Trailering experience necessary as we regularly launch our fleet at the local boat ramp.
Assist Dockmaster with training and evaluating Marina team members on their respective positions.
Assist the Dockmaster with scheduling of the Marina team.
Available to work on weekends and holidays.
Ability to complete goals and targets given.
Ability to work outside on a regular basis; regularly 90+ degree weather with high humidity.
Internal Relationships
Reports to Dockmaster
Water Taxi Captains, Mates, Dockhands, Marina Front Desk Agents, and Marina Supervisor will directly report to this position.
External Relationships
Has regular contact with guests and members of the resort, as well as Directors and GMs of various resort departments.
Qualifications
Must possess USCG Merchant Mariner Credential: Master, minimum 25 Tons
Must possess a valid Drivers License- Class E.
Education/Experience Requirements
Drug free and prepared to enter Maritime Consortium
High School Diploma or GED
Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience commanding inspected passenger vessels in either inshore, near shore, or offshore operation.
3+ years’ experience in a Marina related position preferred.
Physical Requirements
Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. It requires walking or standing to a significant degree, as well as reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing.
