Revenue Accountant en Evertree Insurance LLC

The Position: 

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Revenue Accountant to perform the insurance brokerage accounting activities for direct bill and agency bill commissions within our accounting operations team. This role is responsible the maintenance of accounting records, agency management system production reports, calculation of producer commissions payable, managing client and carrier receivables/payables, commission reconciliations, trust accounting, and regulatory compliance. This role ensures the integrity of financial information and performs specific tasks to support the accounting team. 

The Day-to-Day: 

• Perform the daily accounting operations for P&C insurance brokerage activities, including premium billing, cash application, carrier payables, and client receivables. 
• Post commissions monthly from carrier websites and paper statements for direct bill and agency bill activities. 
• Ensure proper handling of fiduciary/trust accounting in accordance with applicable laws and brokerage best practices. 
• Reconcile broker commissions, overrides, and contingent income with carrier statements. 
• Record the appropriate journal entries during the monthly close process for brokerage revenue, expense accruals, and intercompany allocations. 
• Prepare month-end reconciliations including insurance accounting accounts (agency bill and direct bill), bank reconciliations, and certain general ledger accounts. 
• Develop and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance. 
• Maintain relationships with carrier relations department and agency partners to ensure accurate premium disbursements and commission tracking. 
• Evaluate and enhance accounting controls and workflow efficiencies across systems (Applied Epic, EZLynx, NetSuite). 

What We’re Looking For: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 
• 3-5 years in accounting for insurance brokerage company (required) 
• Proficiency with Applied EPIC insurance agency management system 
• Experience with EZLynx insurance agency management system (a plus) 
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, preferred) 
• Experience with Comulate automation tool (a plus) 
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills. 
• High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
