- Hourly Employment: Roster positions are paid hourly and do not include benefits such as medical, dental, or vision insurance, life insurance, paid leave, or paid holidays.
- Limited Hours: Roster employees may work up to, but no more than, 1,000 hours in a 12 month period.
- Pension System: Roster positions are not eligible for membership in the city’s pension system.
While roster positions do not include benefits, they are often a pathway to full-time, benefited employment with the City. Many of our current full-time employees started in roster positions, and we encourage you to explore this opportunity as a potential first step in your career with us.

We are currently seeking qualified and enthusiastic candidates to fill the role of Park Attendant at Keeley Park.
Primary Duties/Brief Description of Work:
- Developing, maintaining, and demonstrating an understanding of general park operations, facility maintenance, playground equipment inspections and maintenance
- Explain and enforce park rules; patrol park, athletic facilities and report suspicious activities to supervisory staff or law enforcement personnel
- Opening, monitoring, closing, and securing the park and facilities
- Providing excellent customer service
- Completing landscaping and grounds work tasks including mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, blowing, litter removal, etc.
- Operating equipment and vehicles including, but not limited to, pick-ups, utility vehicles, large dump trucks, mowers, tractors, loaders, and more
- Performing custodial tasks as needed to keep the park and all facilities clean and welcoming for all users (this may include but is not limited to litter and trash removal, sweeping, moping, cleaning restrooms, disinfecting surfaces/equipment, restocking supplies such as paper products and soap, etc.)
- Inspect parks and facilities for repair needs; review maintenance needs with assigned supervisor
- Utilizing power tools such as backpack blowers, string trimmers, edgers, etc.
- Utilizing a variety of handheld tools to complete minor repairs as needed
- Assist with operating and maintaining the sprayground
- Maintaining regular, timely, and professional communication with co-workers and supervisors
- Completing assigned tasks in an efficient and effective manner
- Ability to work a varying schedule including weekends, evenings, holidays, or late nights, as required for park operations or special events held in the park or to assist with other department or City events
- Assist with parking and crowd control at special events
- Attending and participating in staff meetings and staff trainings
- Other duties as assigned
Work requires maintaining physical condition for walking, kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time and requires climbing, stooping, crawling, lifting, and carrying moderated to heavy materials. Must have a Valid Driver's License or reliable means of transportation.
This position is Non-Exempt under the FLSA guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License "OR" reliable means of transportation
- landscaping experience
- Experience with maintenance equipment (i.e. Blowers, weed-eaters, tractors, mowers, Kubota UTV (or equivalent), golf carts, hand tools, pressure washers)
- 1st aid and CPR certifications
- Bilingual
