Position is for a temporary safety specialist assignment working 14 & 14 in Memphis, TN. Candidate will report to the client site safety manager as well as Roco Rescue Field Safety Manager and/or Director of Safety. This contract is currently set to go through the end of January 2026, with the possibility of extension beyond that. Other contracts may be available in the future, depending on performance, work ethic, and customer feedback.
Key Responsibilities:
- Anticipate, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions, unsafe practices, and potential risks in the facility.
- Develop, help implement, and advise on hazard control programs, safety procedures, and safety methods to mitigate risk.
- Conduct field safety audits, inspections, and safety observations; measure and evaluate the effectiveness of safety controls.
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective / preventive action tracking.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal safety policies (e.g., OSHA, ISO standards, permit-to-work).
- Collaborate with contractors, maintenance, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure safe performance of work.
- Maintain safety records, update documentation, track safety metrics, and report findings to EH&S management.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) or EH&S role in manufacturing, construction, or high-tech/semiconductor environments.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree or safety certification is a plus).
- Minimum of OSHA 30 ( COSS, OSHA 510, OSHA 511, CHSO, CHST, OHST, ASP, CSP are a plus)
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory frameworks such as OSHA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, VPP.
- Strong ability to identify risks and propose effective controls.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to deliver training, engage employees, and work with leadership.
- Competent with Microsoft Office and data tracking/reporting tools.
- Proactive mindset, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a safety / operations team.
- Willingness to assist host facility with administrative and clerical tasks as needed.
- Work performed in a large data center.
- Possible exposure to hazardous materials, chemicals, noise, and machinery; must adhere to all safety and EH&S regulations.
- Shift work required (possible nights or rotating shifts) depending on facility schedule.
- Physically capable: walking, inspecting, climbing, accessing challenging areas.
