GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Network & Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and optimizing our enterprise network and technology infrastructure across multiple sites. This role blends advanced networking expertise with a strong focus on cybersecurity, ensuring that all systems, data, and communications are protected against evolving threats. The engineer will manage routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks, and related technologies, while also supporting the secure integration, administration, and monitoring of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Azure Active Directory. By proactively maintaining network performance, reliability, and security, this position ensures uninterrupted operations and efficient collaboration across the organization. This role requires a highly skilled, proactive professional capable of identifying risks, implementing best practices, and collaborating with IT and Executive leadership to align technology solutions with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure (routers, switches, wireless, VPNs, and firewalls).
  • Implement and manage security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and SIEM platforms.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance, availability, and security.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and remediation to mitigate risks.
  • Support incident detection, analysis, and response activities across the network environment.
  • Administer and secure Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Intune.
  • Manage user accounts, roles, licensing, and conditional access policies in Azure Active Directory.
  • Collaborate with IT and department stakeholders to design secure hybrid and cloud-based networking solutions.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and security policies in line with compliance standards (NIST, HIPAA, ISO 27001, etc.).
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, threats, and best practices to strengthen network security posture.


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–7+ years of experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role with direct cybersecurity responsibilities, including experience managing Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPNs).
  • Hands-on experience with security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, vulnerability management tools).
  • Experience administering and securing Microsoft 365 environments (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, Azure AD).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance Center and Defender for Office 365.
  • Experience with cloud networking and security (AWS, or Azure).
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (NIST, SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI DSS).
  • Preferred certifications: CCNP Security, CCNA, CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CISSP, or equivalent.


CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Complete TB screening & physical before having direct contact with children. Renew every 2 years.
  • Complete 10 hours of annual professional development training,
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile coverage
  • Satisfactory Driving Record (as outlined in Vehicle Driving Policy)
  • Required acknowledgments: Conflict of Interest, Code of Ethics, Confidentiality, IT Systems and Security, Anti-Fraud, HR Employee Acknowledgement Form.


ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Office and field-based work across multiple sites.
  • Local travel to multiple sites required.


ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:

  • Normal range of hearing and vision.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity for operating IT equipment.
