A vacancy exists for an Intake Case Manager to work within the Office of Early Childhood Services at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit. The Intake Case Manager supports families that transition in from the Birth to Three program as well as families whose child has not received services previously. Intake case manager completes paperwork necessary for Evaluation Reports and Individualized Education Plans (IEP) in accordance with IEP timelines.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required and minimum 2 years' teaching experience in Special Education
Valid PA certification in Special Education N-12 (new cert Special Education PreK-8) and/or Early Childhood/Elementary Education
Excellent communication skills, leadership skills, interpersonal skills, organization skills, problem-solving skills, and ability to use technology to work effectively
Ability to work as a member of a team, be courteous and able to deal effectively with people, able to work in an environment with frequent interruptions
Must be able to cope with needs and behavior patterns of children, able to withstand emotional stress, must have a warm, friendly, helpful personality
Ability to follow written and verbal directions, ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision, ability to read, write, and do simple computation
Ability to work independently and make work-related decisions and exercise good judgement with student interaction
Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI

Duties & Responsibilities:

Local Education Agency (LEA) representative for IEP meetings for all students on caseload
Assure that all Evaluation procedures are completed per Special Education Regulations and timelines.
Assure all information and content in student's IEP accurately reflects student's initial plan
Communicate effectively with parents, preschool staff and evaluation team
Assist in the transition of students from the Birth to Three program to the MCIU Early Intervention Program
Other duties as assigned by Director of Office of Student Services or Program Administrator

Location:
The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit is located in Norristown, PA and services children throughout Montgomery County, PA. Our Early Intervention Program is split on school district lines into four (4) regions within Montgomery County. Position location will be determined during the interview process. Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 12 months (194 days/year)

2025 - 2026 Salary:
Bachelor’s, Step 1: $53,997/year
Master’s, Step 1: $65,007/year
*Placement on salary schedule based on experience and/or education beyond the Master’s Degree.
