What you’ll do…
As the Bakery Manager at our West Milwaukee facility, you’ll lead a multi-shift, multi-platform bakery operation to meet Palermo’s standards for quality, safety, and efficiency. Your role will be vital in guiding production, maintaining high standards, and fostering a positive work environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading bakery operations to ensure the safety, quality, and productivity of all processes.
  • Enforcing compliance with USDA, FDA, OSHA, and company regulations.
  • Training bakery staff and overseeing production to maintain consistent product quality.
  • Collaborating with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure equipment is properly maintained.
  • Driving cost-saving initiatives, managing inventory, and controlling resource usage.
  • Fostering positive employee relations, ensuring fair treatment and accountability.
  • Conducting safety reviews, investigating incidents, and promoting adherence to safety protocols.

Where you’ll work…
You’ll initially work at our Canal Street location until our new West Milwaukee facility opens. At Canal Street, you’ll be hands-on in supporting bakery operations while preparing to transition to the West Milwaukee facility, where you’ll lead a team dedicated to maintaining Palermo’s high standards of quality and efficiency.

When you’ll work…
This is a full-time, exempt position. Your hours will align with the demands of a three-shift operation to support production schedules and operational goals.

Why you’ll be successful…

  • With 3-5 years of bakery manufacturing management experience, you bring a deep understanding of bakery operations and ingredients. 
  • Your leadership skills, communication abilities, and attention to detail will help you effectively manage a team and achieve production targets. 
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency and basic ERP knowledge are required; bilingual skills and AIB Training are a plus.
