RESPONSIBILITIES:
With the assistance of the receptionist, they complete the following tasks:
Daily Tasks:
Census Related Tasks:
- Enter admits, change resident payer status, modify face sheet (demographic info) and manage bed hold process for residents admitted to hospital
- Balance Census
Resident Sign ins:
- Complete E-Admit and answer questions with resident/family within 24 hours of admission
- Review and collect co-pays, if necessary.
- Ensure all resident demographic information entered in the clinical/financial systems is accurate.
- Ensure financials are complete though admissions completes the task of completing financials, upload copies of completed E-Admit, insurance cards, POA, etc.
Billing:
- Works with admissions and receives co-pays for skilled patients. Run credit card for payment as needed
- Record Payments.
- Review AR list with Administrator:
- Complete any collections/write off requests and submit to Carespring
- Prepare in-house or out of house collection letters
- Prepare 30 day discharge letters.
WEEKLY:
Census:
- Balance census every Tuesday morning.
AR Review
- Participate in the meeting with administrator and Social Services
Monthly:
- Balance monthly census and complete average census for the month.
- 10th of every month, complete list of payments not received to Administrator.
- This list includes all MD pending residents and if they have or have not paid yet.
- Maintain the contract repository and upload state and complaint surveys in Sharepoint
- Bed Hold and transfer Letters
Billing:
- Ensure monthly Patient Liability is collected by 10th of the month
- Review Daily Aging and follow up on accounts
- Assist with Social Services with Medicaid, as needed.
Other tasks:
- Supervision of receptionist.
- Assisting family members with questions or directing them to the proper department head.
- Set up and preparation for quarterly meetings with department heads and medical directors
- Set up appointments and meetings for the administrator.
- Other items as directed by the Administrator
State Surveys:
- Maintain resident trust accounts.
- Ensure state books are up to date on the units (Social Services does this) and front office.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to type 40 WPM.
- Must be able to organize daily work and set priorities.
- Ability to communicate with other staff effectively.
- Ability to communicate effectively with family members and residents.
- Must maintain a professional manner and appearance at all times.
