Job Brief
The Inventory Control Specialist, Medical Devices plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of surgical kits prior to shipment. This position is responsible for repackaging parts, verifying kit contents, and resolving inventory discrepancies using SAP. The role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in SAP and Excel, and a commitment to quality assurance. You will work closely with warehouse staff in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment to meet daily shipping goals.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to identify and resolve discrepancies in surgical sets.
- Repackage medical device components using SAP and Excel, following standardized procedures:
- Sort components by part number and lot number to optimize documentation and labeling.
- Select appropriate templates to generate required documents, including:
- Repackaging and Labeling Record (RLR)
- Instructions for Use (IFU)
- Packaging labels
- Complete the RLR with specific information for each part being repackaged.
- Print and prepare all necessary documentation and labels.
- Package each individual component:
- Place the part in a bag
- Affix the correct label
- Insert folded IFU and required stickers
- Apply implant/instrument label
- Seal the bag securely
- Perform second-level verification of surgical sets prior to shipment:
- Review the Set Quality Inspection Specification (SQIS) created during initial audit.
- Match physical contents of the set against SAP audit records.
- Report discrepancies to the appropriate team members for resolution.
- Upon verification, execute SAP transactions to transfer the set from the 2nd Verification warehouse (20103) to the Set warehouse (20105).
- Ensure physical relocation of the set to the correct rack in the Set Room.
- Partner with warehouse team members to maintain inventory accuracy and integrity.
- Accurately document all repackaging activities in SAP and Excel.
- Adhere to all quality assurance and compliance standards related to medical device handling and packaging.
Work Schedule
- Monday – Friday, 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Requirements
Qualifications
- 1+ years of inventory or warehouse experience
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Familiarity with medical device handling a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Windows OS
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Physical Requirements
- Primarily desk-based work with occasional warehouse activity.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Occasional reaching, bending, pushing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
