MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for Operations and Maintenance of Alabama Power owned facilities and assets. Responsibilities include the repair and preventive maintenance for building infrastructure, grounds, access control systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, HVAC, etc. needed to provide safe and productive work environments. This technician will need to be self-motivated, able to operate within critical areas, and maintain and repair the equipment that serves these areas. This job will be located at the General Services APCO in Calera AL.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Current State of Alabama Electrical Contractors License Journeyman or Masters is Required
- The maintenance technician position requires general experience & knowledge in Electrical, Additional experience in HVAC and/or plumbing preferred.
Knowledge and experience of the following:
- Commercial /industrial electrical systems and codes
- Preventive, & Corrective maintenance and repair
- Building automation
- Preventive Maintenance work order systems
- Diagnostic and Testing of related equipment in Electrical systems
- Electrical and General Safety
- MEP drawings, new construction and existing electrical systems
- New electrical installation, conduit bending, wire pulling, panels etc.
- Generator and ATS systems, maintenance, repair, and installation
- Codes, i.e., NEC, OSHA,
- Required and contingent for the position within first 60 days of employment: NERC CIP Certification
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain, repair, modify and install Electrical, HVAC, and Plumbing equipment and systems across a wide variety of environments.
- Perform general inspections and preventive maintenance in all areas as it relates to Facilities Maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with national/local codes and regulations, to provide a safe, reliable work environment.
- Maintain a clean and safe facility as it relates to facilities equipment, and maintenance
- Complete additional training as needed in MEP Fields and Technologies
