Job Type: FT Schedule, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

How you’ll contribute
Works to ensure the timely and seamless transition of patients through medically appropriate levels of care. Uses skilled interventions and evidence-based practice to collaborate with patients, physicians, and multidisciplinary treatment team to achieve quality outcomes.
Additional responsibilities include:
Coordinating patient care plans by liaising with all necessary care providers and medical professions to ensure patient needs are met
Use computer software to admit and discharge patients, coordinate follow-up appointments and refer patients to specialists as needed
Mastermind ways to improve the quality of patient care provided by the facility
Works to create efficient systems and workflows within the clinic
Facilitates optimization of clinic schedule ensuring all schedules are full
Supports off site scheduling initiatives
Provides support to all employed physician offices for office coverage, employee training and other staff concerns. Assists Director as requested
Maintains office in an organized and up to date manner
Prepares bank deposits, superbills, log and batch sheets for billing company
Ensures all front desk metrics are being met (insurance verification, updated address and phone numbers, updated HIPAA…)
Coordinates referrals for service to the hospital, or other specialists and involves appropriate personnel as need to expedite any admissions processes or referral
Trains all new staff in best business practices as outlined by Director
Provides written training materials for new staff members
Teach/demonstrate software changes to existing staff members
Prepares and maintains the patient information, charges, payments, insurance information, and medical records
Provides quality customer service through greeting patients, answering, phone and making patient appointments
Maintains current understanding of insurance and payment information and verifies insurance benefits. Make sure EOB denials and all other account receivable documentation that is received is sent with the daily batch to the billing services.
Attend departmental meetings and stay up to date on all business initiatives related to the clinic
Collect and input patient data, insurance information and financial information into computer system
Manage the clinic budget and ensure that the facility is well-equipped to provide top of the line service while remaining mindful of the bottom line
Meet with patients and patient families to ensure their needs are being met and resolve any issues or complaints that arise
- Identifies and follows up on potential quality, risk and service utilization concerns
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care and insurance errors.
Coordinates with health care team to ensure we are obtaining authorizations and pre-certifications, as required for reimbursement.
- Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with office standards educating patients and families as needed
Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.

Qualifications and requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- 2 to 3 years medical experience in a physician’s office or equivalent in combination of training or experience preferred
- Experience in Case Management, Utilization Review and/or discharge planning preferred
