Job Summary: 

The X-Ray Technologist performs diagnostic imaging examinations using X-ray equipment to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating injuries and illnesses. The technologist ensures quality images while prioritizing patient safety and comfort, and adheres to regulatory standards and hospital policies. 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Operate X-ray equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images. 
  • Prepare and position patients accurately for imaging procedures. 
  • Ensure proper use of radiation protection measures for patients and staff. 
  • Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment according to manufacturer guidelines. 
  • Evaluate images for clarity and diagnostic quality before submitting to radiologists. 
  • Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation. 
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. 
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols. 
  • Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and protect patient confidentiality. 
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulatory standards. 

Qualifications: 

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology or related field. 
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required. 
  • State licensure (if applicable). 
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification. 
  • Minimum [X] years of experience in diagnostic radiology preferred (new grads may be considered). 
  • Knowledge of PACS and RIS systems is a plus. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Knowledge of safety requirements to provide instructions and to recognize and correct hazardous conditions.
    • Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
    • Maintains communication and cooperation with radiologists and other ancillary departments regarding changes in protocol, scheduling of procedures, exams performed and patient flow.
    • Ability to communicate clearly with patients, colleagues and referring offices.
    • Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.

 

Preferred Experience:

Prefer a minimum of 1 year experience.

Multi-modality is a plus. Opportunity to learn Mammography.

 

Required Education/Certification:

    • High School Diploma/GED required.
    • Licensed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
    • Current ARRT/ Radiologic Technologist License
