Luminator is seeking to fill our full-time Shipping Supervisor role to join our growing and dynamic Logistics team where you will be an integral part of the team by providing valuable input as we work toward assessing and implementing goals and mission of the department and Luminator
.

What You’ll Do:

The Shipping Supervisor will be part of a team working to expand a strong and proven concept that has solid growth potential, with the opportunity to create substantial shareholder value. You will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the efficient shipments of goods within Luminator Technology Group. This includes managing shipping teams, ensuring accurate record-keeping, managing shipping priorities, and enforcing safety and compliance standards to optimize the flow of materials and products.

The successful candidate will have the ability to challenge the organization effectively, resolve problems, and willing to provide a hands-on approach in finding solutions.   • Supervise Shipping Teams: Lead, coach, and motivate a team of shipping staff to maximize productivity and efficiency. Ensure team members are properly trained and adhere to safety guidelines and operational procedures.
  • Shipping Operations: Coordinate and schedule outgoing shipments to meet customer delivery requirements. Prepare shipping documents, label, and ensure compliance with shipping regulations. Select carriers and negotiate transportation rates to optimize cost-effectiveness.
  • Logistics: Performs day-to-day processes including receiving goods, shipping products, claiming in-transit damage, planning shipment schedules, ensuring customs clearances, managing logistics costs.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality control processes to ensure accuracy in picking, packing, and shipping of products. Investigate and resolve shipping or receiving issues, working closely with the quality control team.
  • Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities. Prepare and present regular reports on performance metrics to management.
  • Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety standards, best practices, and compliance with relevant regulations. Promote a culture of safety and ensure that all staff follow safety protocols.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce errors. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations.

What You’ll Bring to the Team: The Shipping Supervisor will be an experienced candidate who can successfully lead as a very hands-on Supervisor to scale for additional growth and maximize potential.
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Skills in motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
  • Skills in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
  • Talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Monitoring/assessing your performance to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Ability to speak clearly so others comprehend the delivery of the message.
  • Ability to read and explain schematics.
  • Ability to lift up to 60lbs occasionally.
  • 4+ years of experience in logistics or stockroom inventory or related field with at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing facility or distribution center.
  • Experience with forklift operation required. Forklift certification preferred.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent is required. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, complex technical issues in a clear, concise matter, to individuals with little or no technical background.
  • Ability to take initiative by identifying problems, conceptualizing resolutions, and implementing change along with having attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage projects to ensure all deadlines are met is essential.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately with details and fluctuating work volumes.
