Olentangy Schools is seeking qualified candidates for multiple Intervention Specialist Mild/Moderate and/or Moderate/Intense, Specialized Learning Center positions for the 2026-27 school year. This position will help students learn subject matters and skills that will facilitate maximum learning experiences and contribute to their development as mature, capable and responsible adults; create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students; guide the learning process toward the achievement of curricular goals. Qualified candidates must hold or be eligible to hold valid and appropriate licensure (i.e., Intervention Specialist K-12 M/M, Intervention Specialist K-12 M/I) for each position with the Ohio State Department of Education and Workforce.
Employment status: Certified, full-time, 185-day employment contract
Qualifications for the position include:
- Valid and appropriate Ohio teaching certificate/license
- Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited college or university
- Alternative to the above qualifications as Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate
Essential functions for the position include, but is not limited to:
- Ensure the safety of students
- Prepare clear and timely lesson plans
- Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and present clear, complete, and accurate explanations utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and media suitable to the level of the learners
- Follow the scope and sequence of the instructional program as defined in the board approved maps
- Observe ethics of the teaching profession
Internal candidates (currently employed by Olentangy Schools) must submit an internal online application in Applicant Tracking (SchoolSpring). NOTE: If you are an ESC employee, intern, off-staff advisor/coach, short- or long-term substitute, or student teacher you must apply as an external candidate.
External candidates must submit an external online application in Applicant Tracking (SchoolSpring) and complete an online Teacher Candidate Assessment. In addition, a letter of interest and current resume must be uploaded within the Attachments section of the application. The online Teacher Candidate Assessment is sent via a link under separate email cover. On occasion, the email may end up in junk or spam mail. If so, the link will be titled “Do Not Reply” with the subject “Regarding your Olentangy Local Schools application”. Keep in mind that the Teacher Candidate Assessment is a timed assessment, so please set aside approximately 45 minutes of uninterrupted time before you begin the process. Once the assessment is started, it must be completed within the designated time frame, and multiple attempts to complete the assessment are not permitted.
