Job Functions:
- Oversee and supervise Robotics team activities and events.
- Provide appropriate supervision and maintain a safe learning environment for students.
- Embrace and support equity and equal access to club activities for all interested students.
- Recruit approved volunteers to assist with events.
- Understand and follow the District's recordkeeping and funds management policies and expectations.
- Travel with Robotics team to away events.
- Enforce school rules and behavior expectations.
- Monitor materials and maintain site safety and cleanliness.
- Assume other duties as needed.

- Serves as a positive role model for students.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Required:
- Skills possessed will exemplify a moral character that is consistent with being a positive role model for all students. Knowledge of Robotics at the high school level.
- Knowledge of how to effectively communicate effectively with students and parents.
- Ability to work harmoniously with others. To organize and manage students time effectively. To use problem solving strategies consistently. Ability to motivate students.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Level Education, required.
- Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn current educational practices, and research validated curriculum.
- Strong electronics and mechanical skills to guide students appropriately.
- Knowledge and understanding of the needs and issues related to the student population served.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills, focuses on solving conflict, maintaining confidentiality, listening to others, keeping emotions under control, remaining open to other ideas and contributing to building a positive team spirit.
- Ability to be a positive role model, both during meetings and competitions.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with high school staff, students and parents.
- Successful history of dealing with issues of a confidential nature.
- Bilingual abilities in English/Spanish preferred.
Required Testing:
Any offer of employment made by Hood River County School District to an external candidate is contingent upon satisfactory results of:
- Drug screening tests for any illegal drug or substance classified in Schedules I through V under the Federal Controlled Substances Act, 21 U.S.C. 811 to 812. This includes, but is not limited to, marijuana, mind-altering substances or narcotic drugs such as hallucinogens, amphetamines, barbiturates, or any other illegal drug or controlled substance, except those federally recognized as legally prescribed by a physician and used as directed.
- Post-offer physical abilities assessment.
- Nationwide criminal history verification - a background check for any convictions directly related to the duties and responsibilities of the position. - Fingerprint-based nation-wide background clearance.
Compensation will be through an extra duty stipend, based on 4% of the BA Column on the Licensed Salary Schedule, Level A/B through I. The stipend will range between $2,364 and $2,984 for the year.
