Time: 240 days per
Reports To: Superintendent or Designee
Hours: 20–25 hours/week (afternoons and occasional weekends)
Compensation: Hourly $18 per hour
Position Overview
Cairo School District #1 seeks a dynamic, compassionate, and organized individual to lead its Teen REACH (Responsibility, Education, Achievement, Caring, Hope) after-school program. The Coordinator will design and implement engaging activities that promote academic success, life skills, and positive youth development for students ages 6–17. This role is ideal for someone passionate about building relationships, fostering resilience, and creating safe spaces for youth to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and oversee daily programming aligned with Teen REACH goals: academic enrichment, life skills, recreation, and family involvement
Supervise staff, volunteers, and student participants during program hours
Coordinate transportation, meals/snacks, and safety protocols
Maintain accurate attendance, activity logs, and reporting for grant compliance
Collaborate with school staff, families, and community partners to support student needs
Plan special events, field trips, and service projects that reflect student interests and community values
Communicate regularly with families and stakeholders to promote engagement and feedback
Must be able to adhere to all grant and district policies
Utilize technology to communicate with families, manage schedules, and support student learning
In conjunction with district leadership recruit and hire program staff as needed
Qualifications
High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in work, or related field preferred Experience working with youth in educational or community settings (Teen Reach or similar grant program)
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and higher-level communication skills, including the ability to tailor messages and communicate with all audiences
Ability to lead with empathy, consistency, and cultural responsiveness
Strong fiscal responsibility
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Background check required
Must be highly collaborative
