Purpose and role of job:
Utilizing Lean Six Sigma principles and practices, this position is responsible for providing leadership to ensure PFN’s operation is world class and offers a competitive advantage. The position will lead focused projects towards improving and optimizing manufacturing processes under the guidance of the Global Continuous Improvement Leader. The engineer will also support the education and deployment of Lean Six Sigma methodologies, strategies and policies driving transformation through the entire business operation.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
· Plan, execute, and manage improvement projects throughout the organization utilizing Six Sigma methodology and lean project management techniques partnering with internal and external resources.
· Participate and facilitate Lean Six Sigma principles and problem-solving initiatives positively impacting business shape, minimizing waste, and delivering business excellence.
· Research and conduct cost benefit and data analysis to support continuous improvement projects through stages of ideation, prioritization, and execution.
· Assess continuous improvement initiatives and provide input and recommendations on future activities. Identify and support automation projects.
· Train and educate manufacturing teams on new procedures upon implementation.
· Ensure changes are implemented and monitor progress and results.
· Ensure improvements are sustained and entrenched within the business.
· Communicate continuous improvement philosophy, vision, and expectations to drive the culture within the organization ensuring the engagement and involvement of everyone.
· Develop measurement systems supporting lean six sigma manufacturing philosophy.
· Create dashboards and scorecards to improve operations execution, empower team members, and provide insights on how to improve efficiencies.
· Provide regular reports of data and actions to measure progress against objectives.
· Observes all safety rules and always uses proper safety equipment.
· Follows necessary GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations/guidelines.
· Performs other duties as necessary.
Education and experience requirements:
· Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline or equivalent technical degree and/or experience
· Green Belt Lean Six Sigma Certification or higher with strong understanding of Six Sigma concepts.
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in process-manufacturing environment.
· Preferred, at least 3 years proven experience using Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing initiatives in a process-manufacturing environment.
· Ability to manage cross-functional CI projects from beginning to sustained results.
· Ability to observe business processes, ask questions and synthesize information from a variety of sources to develop an understanding, and map current and future business processes.
· Knowledge of process control techniques including statistical process control and data analysis techniques and presenting them in a meaningful visual format with conclusions
· Demonstrated ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver commitments on time in a fast-paced environment.
· Capable of working independently and communicating multi-functionally through all levels of the organization
· Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office software (e.g., Excel, Work, PowerPoint, Outlook)
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Work Environment:
· Noisy environment requiring hearing protection; manufacturing environment requiring safety shoes and safety glasses. Other PPE required based upon specific tasks.
· Work environment varies for international/domestic travel.
· Domestic and international travel up to 10%
Physical Requirements:
· Walk/stand 100% of time during shift.
· Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, and squatting throughout shift.
· Occasional lifting or carrying up to 50lbs.
· Constant use of hands, including light and firm grasping
· Occasional climbing of steps.
· Balance required for some tasks.
