Skills and Competencies
- Required: A minimum of 15+ years of experience as a Compliance professional in financial institutions, capital markets, or technology supporting diverse internal client groups with a demonstrated record of excellence
- Required: Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proven track record in identifying and analyzing relevant considerations, developing sound recommendations, and presenting findings clearly and concisely
- Required: Strong and effective oral and written communication, active listening, and influencing skills, including the ability to influence without direct authority
- Required: Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, and other tools that enable the visual representation of data and information
- Required: Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision on independent assignments and work effectively within and across teams
- Required: High degree of flexibility and excellent time-management skills required to balance competing demands from a diverse set of internal client groups
- Preferred: Current or prior experience with regulatory interaction.
- Preferred:Basic understadning of artificial intellgence concpts, with curriosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools, such as CoPliot and ChatGPT, can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency
Education
- Law Degree/Advanced Degree or background in risk management/audit desirable
Responsibilities
Support key Compliance initiatives and provide Compliance advice and guidance to Moody’s Analytics (MA), a fast-growing division of Moody’s which delivers a wide array of risk management solutions to global customers, and lead other Compliance deliverables, as assigned.
- Provide Compliance advice and guidance to MA which delivers data, intelligence and analytical tools to help business and financial leaders, including corporates and governments, banks, insurers and asset managers, make decisions.
- Advise employees on codes of conduct and policies regarding conflicts of interest, confidentiality, gifts and entertainment, anti-bribery and anti-corruption, and securities trading.
- Contribute to the annual Compliance Risk Assessment for MA and other areas as assigned, identifying potential areas of risk and recommending program enhancements.
- Lead global Compliance initiatives and other ad hoc projects, contributing actively to large-scale project teams.
- Develop effective working relationships and engage credibly with all levels of business and other internal stakeholders globally regarding Compliance matters.
- Provide guidance and advice on AI initiatives across Moody’s Analytics.
- Support the successful implementation of policies and procedures, promote consistency across jurisdictions, and facilitate the escalation and resolution of Compliance issues.
- Coordinate with Business Unit Compliance Officers (BUCOs) and Local Compliance Officers (LCOs) on Compliance-related matters and advice.
- Represent Compliance at meetings. Provide updates, communicate on new and revised policies and procedures, and present on Compliance topics of interest to the business
- Demonstrate strong decision-making skills, as well as influencing ability, including influencing without authority, and oral and written communication skills.

Moody’s Compliance Department is responsible for providing advice and guidance to promote a culture of compliance and business integrity and in addressing regulatory and reputational risks. It also provides independent review, assessment, and challenge to the business divisions of Moody’s Corporation and other key internal stakeholders. For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $198,300.00 - $287,550.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
