Your role

The Senior Event Manager will lead the strategy, planning, and execution of all North America Fintech, Government, AI, Life Science focused events, including industry trade shows, client conferences, and executive roundtables. This role is critical to driving market visibility, supporting sales pipeline growth, and positioning the company as a thought leader in the evolving financial services landscape. The ideal candidate is an experienced event strategist with a strong background in highly regulated industries, who thrives on delivering measurable business impact through world-class events

Your responsibilities

Event Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and execute event strategies that support business objectives such as client acquisition, retention, and brand authority in the fintech sector.
  • Partner with marketing, product, and sales teams to ensure events highlight company innovation, regulatory expertise, and client success stories.
  • Research and secure speaking opportunities, sponsorships, and partnerships at top fintech, payments, and financial services conferences.

Event Execution & Management

  • Lead the planning and execution of multi-day conferences, thought leadership forums, executive dinners, roadshows, and industry tradeshows.
  • Oversee logistics including venue selection, contract negotiation, production, compliance considerations, and security protocols.
  • Ensure events align with brand standards, deliver a seamless attendee experience, and comply with financial services industry regulations.

Stakeholder & Team Collaboration

  • Serve as a strategic partner to sales leadership, aligning event deliverables with revenue goals and pipeline targets.
  • Collaborate with subject-matter experts, executives, and partners to shape content agendas that address market trends, innovation, and compliance topics.
  • Manage internal teams and external vendors to deliver high-quality, on-budget programs.

Budget & ROI

  • Manage event budgets, contracts, and expense reporting with precision and compliance rigor.
  • Define and track KPIs such as attendee quality, lead conversion, client engagement, and event-driven revenue impact.
  • Provide post-event analysis and actionable insights to executive leadership.

About you

  • 7–10+ years of progressive event management experience, with at least 3 years in fintech, financial services, SaaS, or other regulated industries.
  • Proven success leading large-scale B2B conferences, client summits, and industry tradeshows (500–5,000+ attendees).
  • Strong knowledge of financial industry compliance and security considerations related to client events.
  • Proficiency with event management platforms (Cvent, Aventri, Bizzabo) and CRM/marketing automation tools (Salesforce, Marketo, HubSpot).
  • Exceptional negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments, balancing multiple priorities with strict deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel (domestic and international, 30–40%).

Preferred Skills

  • CMP, or equivalent event management certification.
  • Experience in fintech-specific event formats such as regulatory briefings, investor forums, and innovation showcases.
  • Strong analytical skills with a track record of delivering data-driven ROI reporting.

Working conditions

  • Up to 30% - 40% of domestic travel
  • Flexibility for occasional evening or weekend work during events

Compensation:

Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in compliance with applicable pay transparency laws. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as expertise, skills, education, and professional background.

The range below reflects the expected annual base salary, which is only one element of our comprehensive total rewards package designed to reflect our company pay philosophy, culture and values. $120,000$160,000 USD
