Primary Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to keep electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) in prime working condition. At Voltrek, each field service technician plays a key role in the onsite repair and maintenance of EV charging stations in a specific geographic region. These responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: site safety, electrical system maintenance/repair, site field reports, and other duties as required to properly maintain and operate the site within the contractual requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
Electrical and mechanical preventative and corrective maintenance of site equipment, site field reporting, work order completion, maintaining overall site cleanliness, quality assurance for all work performed, and other work as needed.
Perform troubleshooting on-site with the ability to remotely as well, repairs and upgrades to a broad range of EVSE systems, ranging from Level 2 EV chargers to direct-current (DC) fast chargers. Equipment testing may include but is not limited to: Voltage readings for level 2’s, pulling reports on energy sessions, Installation of Modem Upgrade Kits for both level 2’s and 3’s Troubleshooting knowledge will require ability to identify system performance issues and locate/isolate ground faults.
Work closely with Voltrek’s Service and Maintenance Director to ensure maintenance schedules are adhered to, and work orders and service jobs are completed accurately and on time.
Conduct site safety assessments and identify all safety hazards on the job site. Responsibilities include wearing correct PPE, as per OSHA and site-specific requirements. Using “lock-out tag-out” method any time work is to be done near live wires. Identifying any and all restricted access areas.
Review site manuals and drawings to ensure proper service and maintenance of equipment.
Ensure that all issues at job sites are documented in the work order system and addressed promptly.
Verbal and written communications with customers, as needed.
Maintain and update required system records, according to documented business processes.
Planned and unplanned overtime and emergency response work may be required.
Experience and Qualifications:
You have your high school diploma or GED equivalent.
You have 2+ years of experience in servicing commercial EV charging equipment.
You have a valid state driver’s license.
You possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
You possess complex problem-solving skills.
You have a thorough understanding of OSHA safety requirements, including LOTO, Arc Flash, JHA/JSA, etc.
You possess the ability and capacity to manage various projects and work with tight deadlines.
You have business experience using spreadsheets such as MS Excel or Google Sheets and Word-processing applications such as MS Word or Google Docs.
You have strong electrical, electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
You possess a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and work with little-to-no supervision.
You demonstrate safe work practices and dedication to quality workmanship.
You perform well in both independent and team environments.
You possess the ability to analyze and resolve problems independently.

Frequently communicates with those outside of the department.
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday; typical hours 7am – 4pm ET but occasional variance of start and end times is necessary to meet customer needs.
Travel Expectations:
100 – 120 miles to customers sites – day trips
