Driver Safety & Compliance Business Partner
Our Driver Safety & Compliance Business Partner will serve as a dedicated resource to support all Driver Compliance and Driver Safety initiatives for 500+ company drivers. Ensures files and programs are consistent with Provincial regulations and Wolseley policies and procedures.

What you will do:
- Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret driver data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to optimize driver safety program while maintaining best in class delivery network
- Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on Driver Safety performance, including KPIs and other metrics.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as logistics, procurement, and finance, to support overall business objectives.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to our drivers, branch management team and HR team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Accidents: Monitor accident reporting process and accident file creation for all provincial ministry reportable accidents. Collect and maintain all relevant accident information, including but not limited to: accident documentation, telematics data, reports, pictures, etc. Produce and distribute relevant reporting.
- Provincial Ministry Citations: Maintain a Provincial Citations Report as a basis for Ministry Roadside Inspection centralized collection and accountability. Develop corrective action plans and implement accountability measures. Collect and maintain all proof of defect resolution and repair. Escalate any non-compliance and/or non-improvement instances. Produce and distribute relevant reporting.
- In Truck Camera Monitoring: Monitor camera-based driver behavior recognition. Liaise with branch management to hold drivers accountable for their driving behavior. Facilitate coaching and counseling of inappropriate driving behaviors with a goal of reducing unsafe driving behaviors and accident potential. Assign training as appropriate. Escalate any non-compliance and/or non-improvement instances. Produce and distribute relevant reporting.
- Geotab (telematics): Centralized monitoring and reporting of driver compliance within the Getoab (telematics) system including, but not limited to: Daily Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) compliance & Electronic Hours of service (eHOS) compliance. Review, monitor and develop corrective action plans and accountability for non-compliance. Engage with location management on corrective action plans and accountability with individual drivers based on their driving performance. Drive 100% DVIR completion in each division. Actively engage with branch management with Geotab (telematics) training; teach managers how to effectively use the Geotab (telematics) system. Review driver profiles in the Getoab (telematics system) to ensure completeness and accuracy – perform all necessary driver updates. Escalate any non-compliance and/or non-improvement instances. Produce and distribute relevant reporting
- Driver Accountability: Enforce driver accountability metrics for all Provincial transportation programs and processes.
- Safe Driving Behavior Scores Monitoring and Accountability: Monitor Driver Challenge scores for drivers. Identify behavior issues and coach to improvement. Engage with location management on driver accountability measures. Escalate any non-compliance and/or non-improvement instances. Produce and distribute relevant reporting.
- Fleet Field Presence: Facilitate Fleet policy adherence and best practice sharing
- General:
- Initial Driver escalation point for branches
- Actively engage in monthly calls providing progress updates and ascertaining any needs or issues in the field.
- Work overtime or outside regular working hours as needed.
- Maintain timely and open communication with direct manager.
- Abide by all policies, rules, and regulations of the company including all applicable safety rules, regulations and procedures.
- Always represent the company in a professional manner ensuring quality customer service.

What you will bring:
- 3-5 years experience in a driver safety or fleet management related field, with supervisory experience preferred
- Previous driver management experience mandatory
- Advanced experience with Telematics and camera technology mandatory
- Working Knowledge of Provincial trucking/fleet/driver regulations with a focus on DVIR and eHOS
- Acquire/have knowledge of transportation network operations
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong judgment and decision-making ability
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Able to work in a team and independently
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Highly motivated and customer service oriented
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Bilingual French/English is an asset
