Job Description:

The Data and Visualization Analyst in the College of Engineering will provide analytical, statistical, and visualization tools to support strategic decision-making and program development, mainly in the area of research, across the College of Engineering and all engineering departments. The analyst will support COE leadership, IT, academic departments, and university stakeholders to design and implement data collection systems and visualization tools. Key responsibilities include analyzing large, complex datasets, designing and implementing data collection systems and tools, generating and maintaining reports and data dashboards, ensuring the quality, accuracy and integrity of data across multiple systems, and integrating data from various sources to build cohesive datasets for analysis and visualization. 

40% Support the COE’s leadership in designing and implementing data collection systems and visualization tools to direct and enhance the college and university’s mission and strategic goals, mainly in the area of research. Gather and analyze large, complex datasets to generate and develop measurable and evaluative metrics for COE programs and initiatives in support of strategic level goals with a focus on research. The analyst will evaluate data sources to generate and continuously maintain reports and data dashboards, ensuring the quality, accuracy and integrity of data across multiple systems, and integrating data from various sources to build cohesive datasets for analysis, scalability, and visualization. 

20% Within the COE, this role will support strategic decision-making and program development with a focus on research. Develop real-time data insights and reporting to improve the COE's data evaluation and communications . Propose data-driven automated reporting and dashboards to provide trend analysis, communicate findings, and develop narratives and visualization tools to aid COE Leadership.

20%Serve as the liaison between the COE and the University’s data and analytics offices, ORED, SPA, etc. for data flow, collection, and reporting.  Work with COE departments and staff to optimize metrics, improve data management, integrate and automate reporting to track and monitor metrics, identify patterns and trends, and provide predictive analytics to improve data-driven decision-making.  Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines to support scalable data collection, mainly in the area of research.

15% Works collaboratively with the Office of Data & Strategic Analytics, the Office of Research and Economic Development, and University units as needed.

5% Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in data analytics or related field and 3 + of experience.

Experience in statistical analysis, programming languages, tools such as SQL, Tableau, and Power BI

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree and 5 + years of experience
