Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute material planning and purchasing strategies to support production schedules for electronic components, subassemblies, and finished products.
Source, negotiate, and procure components and services with emphasis on quality, delivery, compliance (e.g., ASIC certification), and cost optimization.
Monitor supplier performance, resolve delivery or quality issues, and escalate risks to ensure continuity of supply.
Maintain accurate demand forecasts and inventory levels, balancing working capital with production needs.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Program Management to align procurement activities with business priorities.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, customer, and company requirements, including export control and aerospace/defense quality standards.
Maintain ERP/MRP system data integrity (lead times, order policies, part attributes) to enable accurate planning and reporting.
Participate in supplier audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify cost-reduction and supply-chain risk-mitigation opportunities within the electronic component market.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in supply chain planning and procurement, preferably within the aerospace & defense electronics sector.
Strong understanding of the electronic components market, including ASIC-related sourcing and certification requirements.
Demonstrated experience with ERP/MRP systems and materials planning in a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with aerospace & defense quality, regulatory, and export control standards.
Skills & Competencies
Technical & Tactical:
Proficiency in ERP/MRP planning, procurement processes, and inventory management.
Knowledge of electronics manufacturing standards and supplier certification processes.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Interpersonal & Behavioral:
High attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance.
Adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced supply chain environment.
Strong personal organization and time management.
Effective interpersonal communication with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Collaborative mindset with ability to work across functions and programs.
Other Requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance (if required by program).
Some travel may be required (<10%) for supplier visits, audits, and program reviews.
Certification in APICS/CPIM, CPSM, or equivalent preferred.
