Adjunct faculty members are responsible for deliveringcurriculum, providing instruction, and performing student learning assessment.The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively useinstructional and classroom technology to enhance teaching and learning.Courses at Waubonsee Community College may be offered in various deliverymodes, however Waubonsee does not accept applications for fully remoteinstructors. Available courses for Spring 2026 (1/20/26 - 5/15/26) semester include: Essential functions of this positioninclude, but are not limited to:
CIS109: Introduction to Scripting- Mondays, 3:30pm - 5:15pm at Plano Campus
CIS122: Networking Essentials- Tuesdays, 8:00am - 11:30am at Plano Campus
CIS237: CISCO II: Asynchronous Online
CIS25: Computer Science II: Java Program- Asynchronous Online
Designing syllabi, lessons, activities,assignments, and assessments to meet the established course description as wellas program, course, and college learning outcomes and/or objectives whileaddressing each student’s needs as diverse learners.
Meeting all college deadlines for submission ofattendance, grades and data collection for assessment of student learning.
Incorporating learning-centered principles andconcepts while motivating students to actively participate in their educationalexperiences.
Integrating instructional and classroom technology(if applicable) appropriately and effectively to deliver and enhance teachingand learning.
Working collaboratively with professionalcolleagues to serve the needs of students and the community.
Modeling professionalism with excellentcommunication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Minimum Qualifications Preferred Experience Teaching traditionally underserved populations. Incorporating technology and multimedia applications into teaching and learningprocess. Teaching in multiple instructional modalities. Utilizing Learning Management Systems. Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification for some courses.
Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4,000 hours of work-related experience in the field.
Teaching Computer Science or Cybersecurity, or a related field, at a Community College or Vocational/Technical institution.
