Position Overview:

Safilo is seeking a Junior Supply Planner to join our dynamic Supply Chain team at our corporate office in Secaucus, NJ. In this role, you’ll help ensure product availability, optimize inventory, and support the successful launch of new collections, directly impacting customer satisfaction and the efficiency of our global supply chain.

Responsibilities:  

  • Manage order placement for assigned suppliers and product lines, ensuring timely and efficient replenishment.
  • Define and implement optimal order release strategies to minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Monitor service levels for assigned product lines, ensuring performance meets or exceeds targets.
  • Coordinate the release of new styles in alignment with product plans, collaborating closely with Development, Sales, and Marketing teams.
  • Identify and manage style components to ensure complete and accurate product availability.
  • Collaborate with Logistics and Inventory teams to maintain accurate planning and prioritization across the supply chain.
  • Update delivery dates in the system and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Review and prioritize customer backorders, working with suppliers to anticipate delivery timelines and adjust priorities as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent service levels and lead-time performance.
  • Carefully analyze system data to ensure it is up-to-date and aligned with demand forecasts.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across planning processes.

 

Required Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field (preferred).
  • 1–3 years of experience in supply planning, logistics, or inventory management; or 2–3 years in demand planning or a related role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and organizational excellence.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Customer-focused mindset with flexibility, resilience, and urgency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required[EH1]  (i.e. Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, TRIM, MAX, MIN) experience with SAP, JDA, and Tableau is a plus.
  • Experience with big data analysis is a strong advantage.
