As the Rental Inspector Officer I & II, you will: provide respectful, courteous, and friendly customer service to all residents, business owners, and property owners while enforcing City ordinances and ensuring compliance of regulations pertaining to the property maintenance code, building code, sign code, zoning ordinance, health code, and other areas under the jurisdiction of the Development Services Department.

What You’ll Bring

  • When assigned to Rental Inspection Officer I
    1. High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is required.  
    2. Code Enforcement Officer Certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.  
  • When assigned to Rental Inspection Officer II
    1. High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is required.  
    2. 3+ years of Code Enforcement, or Building Inspection, or related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.  
    3. Code Enforcement Officer Certification required.   
    4. International Code Council Property Maintenance & Housing Certification required.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background investigation and MVR check.
  • Must possess valid class C Driver’s License.
