What does this role look like?
Lockheed Martin (LM) is looking for a dedicated LE2 Reentry Strategic Planning and Proposal Lead to become a member of the Reentry Portfolio Integration (RPI) Office. In this role, you will have numerous opportunities to represent the LE2 Reentry IPT with our Navy partner, LM leadership, and suppliers, with many opportunities for career development along the way. The LE2 Reentry IPT is responsible for the development, manufacture, and management of the Reentry system.
As part of our team, you will be responsible for leading a $100M+ proposal that spans the maturation of the Reentry system design from PDR to CDR. In this role you will lead our team in shaping the prime Request for Proposal and then leading the team in BOEs, Supplier RFPs, and technical volumes. As proposal lead you will be the primary representative for the LE2 Reentry IPT in all proposal efforts and will utilize the Reentry team’s expertise in the technical design to shape the proposal response
In this role will offer you the following daily key responsibilities:
• Lead a team in development of a high profile proposal
• Contribute to new business trade studies
• Enhance cross discipline product development
• Participate in mentorship opportunities and professional development
• Be the proposal interface to FBM management and our Navy counterparts.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of the Long Range Plan and Cost Model
• Support our long-term material planning efforts
• Coordinate with LE2 Missile and Reentry technical teams to align cost model inputs with program schedules
• Assist the Program Manager with program management responsibilities as required
• Will need to travel as required.
This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in either:
• Denver, CO ,
• Titusville-Space Coast, FL,
• King of Prussia/Valley Forge, PA ,
or
• Sunnyvale, CA
and will be expected to work in the office.
Basic Qualifications
• Experience in proposal response, examples of specific experience are:
➔ generating Basis of Estimates (BOE),
➔ Supplier Statement of Works (SOW), and
➔ Rough Order of Magnitudes (ROM).
• Experience in team leadership.
• Exposure to the Engineering design lifecycle (SRR, PDR, CDR), specifically prior experience working on the design of HW or SW- either commercially or for a defense program.
• Experience with Integrated Master Schedules (IMS)
• Familiarity with Cost Model / Long Range Planning.
• CAM / Budgeting experience.
• You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US TOP SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

• Experience in Government Request For Proposal (RFP) response.
• Engineering background or experience leading an engineering team as a project lead/CAM.
• Experience in areas of cost analysis, schedule, and risk & opportunity management.
• Experience and desire to brief senior LM and Government leaders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated leadership and initiative.
• Understanding of material identification (amount of material we need to procure, generate Bill of Material (BOM)).
