Job Description:Business Analyst – Capital Markets (Toronto)
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – remote with occasional on-site presence)

About the Role
We are seeking a Business Analyst with proven expertise in finance (banking, trading, investment, or capital markets). This is the number one selection criterion: if you do not have professional experience in the financial sector, your application will not be considered.
In addition to strong financial knowledge, the candidate must also bring a solid technical background (SQL required) and the ability to balance both functional and technical aspects.
Responsibilities
- Collect, document, and validate both functional and technical requirements. 
- Perform SQL-based data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting. 
- Collaborate with developers, data teams, and infrastructure to design and implement solutions. 
- Manage requirements and priorities across multiple concurrent projects. 
- Communicate effectively with business and IT stakeholders in a hybrid/remote setup. 
- Adapt quickly to evolving business and project needs. 
Qualifications:
Required Skills & Experience
- Finance expertise (mandatory): professional experience in banking, financial services, or capital markets. Applications without financial expertise will not be considered. 
- Technical background (mandatory): strong SQL database knowledge is required. Experience with development tools/languages (Java, C++, VBA, COBOL, Oracle, Sybase, etc.) is a strong asset. 
- Previous experience with financial applications such as Murex, Calypso, Openlink, or similar. 
- Strong ability to combine functional analysis with technical execution. 
- High adaptability to work on several projects simultaneously. 
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Experience with reporting or BI tools.
