Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Basic technology skills, advanced (preferred)
- Highly qualified (preferred)
The selected applicant will receive mentorship and guidance from the District Librarian
Reports to:
- Building Principal
Responsibilities:
- Maintain daily operations of the middle/high school library
- Monitor and support positive behavior
- Implement supports outlined in IEP and 504 plans
- Performs manual tasks as needed including sorting, shelving, straightening, and check in/check out of books/materials
- Oversee overdue notices, fine processing, and fine collection
- Process new materials for bar codes, catalog entries, labels, and circulation
- Conduct inventory of materials and coordinate removal/mending of worn items with principal
- Assist students/staff in location of materials and using databases
- Create and update displays of books, materials, bulletin boards, and signage to promote usage
- Mantain a positive outlook when working with students and staff
- Run the Fall book fair
- Ensure a clean and orderly library space
- Schedule and support teacher classroom visits
- Maintain library records for purchases, overdue reports, fines, orders, and inventory logs
- Learn about Potterville policies, guidelines, expectations, etc.
- Support HS lunch monitoring duty
- Assist in preparation of state assessment materials
- Calmly handle various situations that may occur and various different environments (i.e. - one-on-one, library, outside, etc)
- Oversee work based learning students, volunteers, and/or independent study/college course students by taking attendance and monitoring their job duties as appropriate
- Level 1 tech support with a willingness to learn and train staff in school-based technology systems

- Ability to work well with peers, building staff, students, families and administrators
- Willingness to supervise students both indoors and outdoors
- Knowledge or willingness to learn about Capturing Kids' Hearts
- Knowledge or willingness to learn about library systems and general technology
- Strong organizational systems and ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills
- Preferably a genuine interest in reading to help support student learning
- Knowledge or willingness to learn PowerSchool, Foxbrite and other additional school based technology systems
