Job Title: Long-Term Substitute Teacher

Reports To: Principal Job
The Long-Term Substitute Teacher will provide instruction and manage the classroom environment in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. This role involves delivering lesson plans, assessing student progress, and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Instruction: Deliver lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the regular teacher or develop new plans as needed.

• Classroom Management: Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning.

• Student Assessment: Evaluate and monitor student progress, providing feedback and grades as required.

• Communication: Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to support student learning and address any issues.

• Professional Development: Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.

• Compliance: Adhere to school policies, procedures, and state education regulations.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.

• Certification: pending VA teaching license

• Experience: Previous teaching experience preferred, especially in a substitute or long-term role.

• Skills: Strong classroom management skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in using educational technology.
