Job Summary:
The Chief Information Officer is responsible for the strategy, planning, implementation, and operations of IT. This role is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of the business IT support and infrastructure systems. The CIO directs and manages IT strategic planning and IT operational optimization according to established goals and objectives. The role ensures maximum uptime and stability for business operations. The CIO is responsible for identifying emerging information technologies to be analyzed, assimilated and integrated within the organization, and oversight of the development of mission-critical IT systems and technology to support the bank's long-term goals
Primary Functions and/or Responsibilities:
- Leads a team of technology professionals supporting systems and services, enabling business units to achieve goals.
- Aligns IT objectives to business objectives and the corporate strategic plan. Defines, updates, and executes a three-year technology strategic plan.
- Provides oversight of procurement and implementation for technology solutions to streamline internal operations and optimize strategic benefits and customer service. Also provides oversight of IT standards and architecture guidelines to ensure alignment.
- Provides oversight of procurement, implementation, and maintenance for technology solutions in accordance with regulatory governance, compliance, and standards.
- Provides oversight to ensure secure systems and services to minimize and mitigate risks to the business from cyber-related threats.
- Consults with all business units to ensure third party technology services are optimized and integrate with IT systems. Meets frequently with business leaders to ensure Technology efforts are aligned with business needs.
- Advises executive leadership regarding technology directions and decisions across the enterprise. Presents regularly to executive leadership and the board regarding the status of IT.
- Manages Technology budget and technology spend in other areas for fiscal responsibility
- Participates on the Enterprise Risk Management Committee and supports by aligning Technology efforts regarding risk mitigation
- Maintains strategic service provider and vendor partnerships
- Partners with Enterprise Project Management to ensure IT resources are aligned and leveraged efficiently to meet target dates
- Maintains strong and effective relationships with bank examiners, ensuring the needs of annual examinations are met efficiently and timely
- Works with Internal Audit to conduct regular reviews of systems, security, and compliance using third party reviewers as necessary
- Provides oversight of regulatory and audit findings and ensures reporting on measures undertaken to address material findings and recommendations is taking place
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience:
- BS/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field required
- Proven experience as CIO or similar managerial role
- At least 15 years of combined technology experience
- At least ten years of experience working in a highly regulated industry
- Experience with budgeting for a large technology department preferred
Specific Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Breadth in technology background to include a strong understanding of technology solutions
- Excellent knowledge of technology systems and infrastructure
- Solid application development background
- Ability to effectively present ideas to management and Board
- Experience with budgeting for a large technology department preferred
