Position Overview

OMG currently operates in two Divisions: OMG Roofing Products and FastenMaster®. OMG Roofing Products is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of value-added components for the commercial roofing industry. The FastenMaster Division manufactures and markets innovative, premium quality wood-to-wood fasteners that are engineered to enable professional contractors to complete building projects safer, faster, and easier.

 

OMG’s Finance team is committed to the ethical, accurate and timely reporting of OMG’s financial position, adhering to company policy and procedures, industry best practices and generally accepted accounting principles. The Accounting Manager will bring strong leadership capabilities and the ability to manage a team while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines. This role requires commitment to driving continuous process improvements and ensuring all work is completed with the highest degree of quality and accuracy.

 

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Promote Safety as the Number One Priority of all OMG employees.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including credits and collections and accounts receivable.
  • Lead the monthly closing process including review of journal entries and account reconciliations, prepare financial schedule and financial reports, and analyze account activity and balances.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial results.
  • Lead fixed assets and depreciation reporting, leases, sales and use tax, cash and AR.
  • Lead external audits coordination, and provide information and analysis as requested.
  • Oversee sales and use tax filings and ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Assist with variance analysis, physical inventories, and cost updates.
  • Prepare and maintain internal control narratives (i.e., Sarbanes-Oxley requirements) including interaction with other departments to ensure compliance.
  • Strengthen existing controls and processes and recommend changes to enhance effectiveness and drive employee engagement.
  • Process Improvement mindset - Implement and oversee efficient accounting systems and processes to improve accuracy and streamline workflows.
  • Lead, coach and train staff to ensure professional growth and team effectiveness.
  • Participate in GEMBA walks, including leading weekly Finance GEMBA..
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

 

 

 

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration. CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years relevant experience; previous managerial experience preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills including Excel, Word, and other MS Office Suite programs.
  • Technical Skill - Strong analytical skills, proficiency with ERP systems (QAD experience a plus)
  • Ability to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and forecast future performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively articulate conclusions from analysis conducted, including challenges and opportunities.
  • Ability to manage teams, delegate tasks effectively, and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail to manage multiple projects and deadlines accurately.
  • Strong compliance with company values and ethics.
  • Positive attitude, good judgment, team-based, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership.

 

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle while maintaining focus on safe driving and avoiding all distractions when behind the wheel, especially cell phones.
  • Ability to stand, walk and sit for long periods of time; talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; handle or feel objects or controls, reach with hands and arms; and occasionally lift/push/pull/carry up to 25 pounds.
