Status: Full Time Non-Exempt

ScheduleMonday – Thursday, 2nd Shift (4 P.M. to 2 A.M)

Location: Bardstown, KY

Reports To: Processing Manager

Job Summary

 

The Bottling Processor at Bardstown Bourbon Company is responsible for supporting all aspects of the bottling process, including batching, filtering, barrel handling, product transfers, and accurate record-keeping in compliance with TTB and ISO standards. This role ensures efficient, on-time production while maintaining quality, safety, and cleanliness throughout operations. Ideal candidates are dependable team players who value precision, can suggest process improvements, and thrive in a hospitality-focused environment where interaction with guests and tour groups is part of the culture. 

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

 

    • Complete assignments to assure on-time production and/or delivery.
    • Complete multiple assignments in the most efficient manner.
    • Load and unload products on bulk containers and totes.
    • Dump/handle barrels as required and determine regauge receipt.
    • Follow and suggest improvements in batching process.
    • Prepare filters for various products - involves loading filters using pads and adding filter aid.  
    • Determine product amounts, using Tables, factors, and formulas, for government records and the addition of any ingredients necessary to complete the process, such as water or caramel.
    • Hook and unhook hoses to Bottling line as required to ensure correct product is delivered.
    • Adhere to quality standards per BOM and TTB regulations.
    • Maintain high morale and positive relationships.
    • Maintain safe work practices and good housekeeping procedures.
    • Uphold machines and/or equipment in good repair.
    • Recommend changes or improvement in methods, equipment, handling, or lay-out.
    • Responsible for accuracy of required reports and record-keeping.  Input data into the Distillery Solutions System.
    • Control scrap, and waste.
    • Follows all Company, EPA, and Safety regulations and policies.
    • Commitment for the Company’s ISO program including the quality and food safety of our products.
    • Other duties as assigned by management.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

 

    • High School diploma or GED, or equivalent training and experience.
    • Prior experience in a similar role is preferred. 
    • Have strong math, analytical and counting skills
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. 
    • Interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. 
    • Detail and outcome orientated with the ability to analyze and interpret data. 
    • Reliable transportation to the assigned workplace.

 

Physical Requirements

 

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb all day; frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. 
    • The employee must be able to physically navigate around a plant/production environment, including the repetitive climbing of stairs and elevated walkways. 
    • Frequent expose to fluctuating indoor and outdoor temperatures. 
    • Limited overnight travel may be required and travel by car, air, train, or other means of public transportation may be needed. 
    • The employee must have the ability to hear and understand verbal communication in person and over communication devices (phone, radio); ability to detect and respond to alarms, warning signals, and emergency notifications; ability to distinguish differences in tone, volume, and pitch for accurate communication. 
    • The employee must have the ability to read printed materials, digital screens, and fine print; ability to detect visual signals such as warning lights, hand gestures, or safety signs; ability to accurately perceive depth, color, and movement as required for the role; ability to operate tools, machinery, or vehicles requiring visual coordination. 
    • The employee must have the ability to use taste and smell when tasing alcohol distillate.
