This position will work as part of a team to provide support for end users of personal computers and the associated networks, hardware, and software. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving tier 2-3 technical computer problems and issues, as well as maintaining essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain internal infrastructure requirements, including laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates; support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and training material related to systems or workstations.
- Utilize and maintain help desk ticketing software; respond with urgency to IT support requests.
- Act as an escalation point for other members of the team with end user IT issues; assist in collecting, researching, and resolving these complaints.
- Perform ongoing day-to-day operations including maintaining system security, virus/malware software, monitoring usage statistics and system logs, backing up network data, and troubleshoot system-related problems as needed.
- Study software capabilities and operations to prepare system software installation; perform timely workstation/server hardware and software upgrades as required.
- Analyze system performance to optimize efficiency.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related discipline, or a combination of education and working experience in lieu of a degree.
- Strong organizational skills with high energy, enthusiasm, and the ability to nurture numerous projects simultaneously.
- Must be people and team oriented, possess the ability to encourage team problem-solving, and have a willingness to accept ideas and suggestions from others.
- Previous experience utilizing general networking principles and working with virtual environments required.
- Proficiency in networking principles, hardware configuration (HPE Aruba, Barracuda), Windows Server 2016-2025, virtualization (Citrix, Hyper-V), Active Directory, Exchange, and Microsoft 365 administration – Entra, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive etc. required.
