Position Description: The Vice President (VP) of Sales will lead and manage all new home sales activities within the division, driving the strategy, execution, and growth of sales across the company’s residential portfolio. This leadership role requires an experienced and results-driven sales professional with a deep understanding of the homebuilding industry, market dynamics, and customer needs. The VP of Sales will work closely with senior leadership, marketing, construction, and customer service teams to maximize revenue, market share, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to drive company growth and market penetration.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team, setting clear performance expectations and providing the support needed to achieve sales targets.
- Align the sales strategy with overall business goals, ensuring consistent messaging, pricing, and customer engagement across all projects.
- Establish clear sales goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales team to drive accountability and performance.
Sales Operations & Performance Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the sales team, ensuring efficient lead generation, qualification, and conversion to maximize sales opportunities.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, adjusting tactics as needed to meet or exceed revenue targets.
- Regularly assess team performance, providing feedback, coaching, and development opportunities to enhance individual and team success.
- Implement and maintain a structured sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and timely follow-up on all opportunities.
Market Research & Opportunity Identification:
- Conduct ongoing market research to identify industry trends, customer needs, competitor activities, and new business opportunities.
- Evaluate sales data, customer feedback, and market conditions to refine and adjust sales strategies and tactics.
- Identify key growth markets and target customer segments, adjusting sales efforts accordingly to increase market share.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, real estate brokers, agents, and other stakeholders to generate referrals and repeat business.
- Lead sales team efforts in nurturing relationships with homebuyers, providing superior customer service and ensuring a positive sales experience.
- Address customer concerns, complaints, or issues in a timely manner, ensuring customer satisfaction and enhancing brand loyalty.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Work closely with marketing, construction, and operations teams to ensure alignment on sales initiatives, promotional campaigns, and project timelines.
- Partner with the marketing team to develop sales collateral, presentations, and digital content that resonate with target buyers.
- Coordinate with the construction team to ensure the sales team has accurate and up-to-date information about available homes, pricing, and delivery timelines.
Sales Training & Development:
- Establish and lead sales training programs to continually improve the sales team’s product knowledge, selling techniques, and customer engagement skills.
- Encourage ongoing professional development through workshops, conferences, and continuous learning opportunities.
- Foster a culture of high performance, teamwork, and innovation within the sales department.
Sales Reporting & Forecasting:
- Provide regular sales reports and analysis to the CEO and executive leadership team, highlighting performance metrics, trends, and potential risks.
- Develop accurate sales forecasts, ensuring that the company can plan for demand and resources accordingly.
- Utilize CRM and sales analytics tools to track performance, customer interactions, and sales progress.
Competitive Intelligence & Pricing Strategy:
- Monitor competitor sales strategies, pricing, and promotional tactics to ensure the company remains competitive in the marketplace.
- Collaborate with leadership and the finance team to develop and adjust pricing strategies that reflect market conditions, profit margins, and customer demand.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field (required).
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the homebuilding or residential development industry.
- Proven track record of successfully driving sales growth, managing a sales team, and achieving revenue targets.
- In-depth understanding of the homebuilding sales cycle, market dynamics, customer segmentation, and real estate industry trends.
- Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) tools, sales reporting, and forecasting.
- Active TX Real Estate license required.

- Ability to structure and lead pricing discussions, promotions, and offers that drive sales while maintaining profitability.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate the company’s value proposition to various stakeholders.
- Skilled in presenting sales strategies, reports, and results to executive leadership and other internal teams.
- Proficient in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Ability to leverage digital tools and platforms for sales outreach, customer engagement, and performance tracking.
