Job Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive HR Specialist to lead our efforts in employee safety, OSHA compliance, and CPR training, while also supporting broader HR functions as assigned. The ideal candidate will ensure the organization maintains a safe, healthy, and legally compliant workplace, and will play a vital role in fostering a culture of safety and compliance. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety & OSHA Compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain workplace safety policies and programs in compliance with OSHA, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety audits to identify and correct potential hazards.
- Serve as the primary contact for OSHA and other regulatory agency inspections and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Maintain all required OSHA logs and documentation (e.g., OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 forms).
- Lead and document incident investigations and develop action plans to prevent recurrence.
- Coordinate annual safety training programs and toolbox talks for employees and supervisors.
- Monitor trends and recommend strategies for risk reduction and incident prevention.
CPR & Emergency Response
- Coordinate CPR and first aid training for employees in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Maintain certification as a CPR/First Aid instructor (preferred) or schedule and oversee third-party training.
- Assist in developing and maintaining emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and drills.
- Support the organization's crisis management team as needed.
- Monthly Health related articles in Company Newsletter.
General Human Resources Responsibilities
- Assist with employee onboarding, including safety and compliance orientation.
- Support HR initiatives such as policy development, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and documentation.
- Respond to employee questions and concerns related to HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Participation in Client Services, Transition Services and Onsite Association as needed.
- Provide some concierge services including greeting and assisting residents, managing package deliveries, handling amenity reservations, and coordinating service requests.
- Assist in the coordination of company-wide events, wellness programs, and employee recognition activities.
- Participate in HR audits and compliance reviews as needed.
- Provide support for HR-related projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Occupational Safety, Business Administration, Public Health or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in HR with a focus on safety and compliance required.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety best practices.
- CPR/First Aid certification required; instructor certification preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of federal and state safety regulations.
- Ability to conduct training sessions and communicate safety protocols clearly.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
Working Conditions:
- Work is primarily performed in an office setting, with regular visits to work sites/facilities.
- Occasional lifting of materials or equipment up to 25 pounds.
- May require travel to various work locations.
Payrate: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 annually DOE
Schedule: Monday - Friday, Occasional Weekends and Holidays may be required.
