Grant Thornton is seeking a Treasury and Cash Management Associate Director to join the team in Downers Grove, IL. 

 

The Treasury Associate Director reports to the Global Treasurer and plays a key leadership role in shaping Grant Thornton’s global financial strategy. You’ll be responsible for guiding capital structure, liquidity planning, and risk management to support both near-term operations and long-term growth objectives. This role partners closely with the CFO on financing strategies and investment decisions, while also overseeing critical relationships with banks, insurers, and credit rating agencies. You’ll drive cross-functional collaboration across Finance, service lines, and partners of the firm, to lead initiatives that enhance financial performance, operational efficiency, and strategic initiatives at scale. 

Essential duties and responsibilities – Treasury and Cash Management:

  • Direct Treasury operations activities including cash positioning, funding needs, bank account structures, regional cash pooling, intercompany transactions, investments and cash forecasting
  • Establish and supervise administration of intercompany loans
  • Oversee management and reporting of debt and credit facilities, including covenant compliance
  • Coordinate funding and settlement of M&A transactions. Lead treasury integration of acquired companies and separation of divested entities
  • Collaborate with Tax, Accounting, and Legal teams to effectively and efficiently repatriate cash across subsidiaries to maintain liquidity and reduce borrowing costs
  • Support the Treasurer in managing the company’s capital structure, including advising on financing strategies, and execution of debt and equity transactions
  • Corporate risk management activities - FX, Interest Rate, and global insurance programs
  • Collaborate with IT to implement ERP, Treasury Management System and new bank products and services
  • Document and establish procedures and controls for all treasury functions globally
  • Streamline processes, identify process improvements and/or opportunities to automate or offshore functions
  • Prepare reporting for management, sponsor, and lenders by leveraging business analytics, financial modeling, and KPI dashboards to deliver actionable insights
  • Support investor relations activities by preparing financial data, liquidity updates, and capital structure insights for investor presentations, earnings calls, and lender communications
  • Manage banking relationships by overseeing KYC compliance, administering global bank accounts, and coordinating annual FBAR (Foreign Bank Account Report) regulatory filings
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, Tax, and Operations teams to prepare 13-week cash flow forecasts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives 
  • Maintain relationships with financial institutions, lenders, credit rating agencies, key partners and to ensure liquidity, cost saving opportunities, and stay apprised of latest market trends

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA required, MBA preferred
  • Must have at least 7 years or more of progressive global Treasury experience in a corporate environment, prior experience in a private equity–owned company is strongly preferred
  • Experience overseeing global Treasury and Cash Management/Applications function 
  • Proven experience supervising both domestic and offshore teams, with a strong track record of developing, coaching, and mentoring staff to achieve high performance
  • Strong understanding of capital markets, cash management, risk management, and corporate finance principles for a global company
  • Experience implementing Treasury Management System 
  • Adept at using various Treasury Management Systems, ERP systems (Oracle or SAP), Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) and adept at learning new software programs
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills, able to prioritize multiple assignments
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Strong work ethic, ability to excel in fast-paced environment and work additional hours as needed

 

The base salary range for this position in the firm’s Downers Grove, IL office only is between $144,000 and $216,000 per year.
