Greater Cincinnati Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Services (GCVS) is a specialty and referral hospital offering 24/7 emergency, urgent care, and specialty services. Our hospital provides comprehensive care across a wide range of disciplines, including internal medicine, surgery, and rehabilitation.
Our Internal Medicine department is led by a board-certified veterinary internist (DACVIM), and our Surgery department features a board-certified small animal surgeon (DACVS) to deliver truly collaborative and specialized care.

Job Description:We are seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Small Animal Veterinary Dermatologist to join our growing team of specialists. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment with a strong support team and access to advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities. The ideal candidate is passionate about dermatology, client communication, and providing high-quality, compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and manage a wide range of dermatologic conditions in small animals, including allergic, autoimmune, infectious, and parasitic diseases.
Perform dermatologic procedures such as skin scrapings, cytologies, biopsies, and allergy testing (intradermal or serum-based).
Conduct video otoscopy and deep ear flushes as needed.
Provide dermatologic consultations for in-house referrals and external clients.
Collaborate with referring veterinarians and in-house specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
Educate clients on treatment plans, medication use, and long-term management strategies.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with or interest in teaching and mentoring support staff or interns
Familiarity with advanced dermatologic diagnostics and treatment protocols
Ability to manage complex cases and work collaboratively with other specialists
DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited veterinary school
Board certification or residency training in Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD or ECVD)
Active veterinary license in [Insert State] or ability to obtain one
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and client service
