The Role

Capstone is seeking a strategic, people-focused executive to serve as the General Manager of PebbleGo, a flagship digital learning platform for elementary age students. This role is responsible for reinvigorating a mature product in a competitive EdTech market—driving innovation, expanding reach, and delivering long-term growth. 


The General Manager will oversee all aspects of PebbleGo’s performance, from product strategy and development through marketing, sales enablement, and customer experience and will own the P&L for the PebbleGo business unit. This leader will work cross-functionally across technology, content, marketing, and sales teams to ensure PebbleGo continues to inspire and engage students, while meeting the evolving needs of educators. 


This position will also serve on the Executive Leadership Team at Capstone and is expected to perform in alignment with Capstone’s core values and executive leadership competencies. 


This is a hybrid role, based out of our Edina, MN location.

Your Responsibilities

  • Executive Leadership: Own the PebbleGo business unit’s P&L, ensuring the business achieves its revenue growth goals and profit targets. Serve as a member of Capstone’s executive leadership team, with shared responsibility for the health and growth of the entire Capstone organization.
  • Product Leadership: Own and execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for PebbleGo, ensuring it delivers meaningful value for educators and students while staying ahead of market trends.
  • Market Growth: Identify opportunities to reverse market softening and reignite product adoption through innovative enhancements, new features, and effective go-to-market strategies.
  • Team Leadership: Engage, inspire, and hold accountable a diverse team of product managers, engineers, designers, marketers, and customer success staff. Build trust and respect quickly, foster strong relationships across functions, and create an      environment where high-performing individuals feel valued, challenged, and motivated to collaborate. Demonstrate strong emotional intelligence and people savviness to navigate complex team dynamics and bring out the best in each person.
  • Development: Guide product lifecycle management, from ideation to release, with a focus on usability, scalability, and  integration with classroom technology.
  • Innovation: Champion innovation and create a structured, iterative innovation process to anticipate educator and student needs, develop new customer-vetted features, explore emerging technologies, and reimagine PebbleGo’s role in the     classroom to drive renewed excitement and growth.
  • Marketing Alignment: Oversee the PebbleGo go-to-market initiatives in partnership with a centralized sales      team to strengthen positioning, customer engagement, and brand awareness in the competitive EdTech space.
  • Customer Focus: Maintain a deep understanding of educator and student needs; use data and feedback to drive decision-making and prioritize enhancements.
  • Financial Performance: Manage PebbleGo’s P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, and pricing strategies to maximize growth and profitability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with executives across Capstone to ensure PebbleGo’s goals align with broader business objectives.
  • Partnerships & Industry Presence: Build relationships with technology providers, schools, and industry partners to expand PebbleGo’s impact and reach.


Education, Experience, and Skills desired: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Technology, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. 
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in digital product management or product development, with responsibility for a product portfolio of at least $20M. 
  • Track record of revitalizing or growing mature products and proven success in the EdTech sector strongly preferred. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and inspire high-performing, cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Understanding of software development processes, UX principles, and emerging education technologies.
  • Experience shaping go-to-market strategies, customer messaging, and product positioning.
  • Data-driven approach to decision-making, with strong financial and P&L management capability.
  • Excellent communicator who can influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong knowledge of the K-12 EdTech landscape, including instructional needs, market dynamics, and competitor activity preferred.

Travel Requirements

10%-15% to industry events, customer visits, and conferences.
