About the Department
Reporting directly to the Support Services Manager, responsible for performing a variety of duties such as ordering, receiving, and stocking inventory and performing the daily operations and upkeep of the EMS warehouse.
Position Duties
- Orders, purchases, receives, and unpacks materials, supplies, parts tools, and equipment essential for EMS operations
- Performs inventory control by distributing supplies to EMS staff and maintains inventory logs
- Inspects and conducts quality control of all supplies
- Develops and maintains operational routines and procedures for equipment, including organizing, storing, and arranging inventory for daily use
- Analyzes and reviews daily reporting methods and procedures
- Performs daily maintenance and troubleshoots medical equipment such as AED’s, chest compression systems, ECG units and other medical devices
- Prepares and coordinates surplus inventory for auction
- Monitors the storage and disposal of hazardous materials
- Serves on Williamson County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Support team and assist with logistic matters
- Updates fleet mileage in internal systems
- Serves as department liaison for vendors, EMS staff and IT on tracking systems and software issues
- Compiles and retains daily, monthly, and annual reports related to inventory and warehouse functions
- Reviews, tracks, and verifies all financial purchases of inventory
- Attends all meetings and trainings as required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Position involves prolonged sitting at a workstation, visual examination of documents, reaching, walking, twisting, bending, standing and occasional lifting/carrying
- Position involves safely operating a motor vehicle
- Position involves occasional lifting and carrying of up to fifty (50) pounds and exertion of up to twenty-five (25) pounds of force to move objects
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
- Work is primarily indoors in an air-conditioned environment
- May be required to perform some work outdoors in inclement weather (heat, cold, wet conditions)
- Regular travel between work sites as required
IRREGULAR HOURS
- Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be required
- May be deemed essential personnel in the event of an emergency
- Regular attendance is required

Minimum Qualifications
- HS diploma or equivalent AND three (3) years of inventory management and warehouse experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety equipment and practices
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and inventory tracking software
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Required within thirty (30) days of employment
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
Required within six (6) months of employment
- ICS Certifications:IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, and IS-800
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Vocational or technical diploma certification OR equivalent in a related field
- Two (2) years of experience forecasting, managing, and ordering inventory
- Familiarity with pre-hospital medical equipment
