Location: Onsite in Denver, CO
Reports to: VP, Engineering
The Engineering Document Manager reports to the Engineering Lead to oversee the creation, management, distribution, and archiving of technical and engineering documentation. The successful candidate will ensure document control processes comply with industry standards, project requirements, and regulatory guidelines, while facilitating smooth communication and collaboration across engineering, project management, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain document control systems and procedures specific to engineering and technical documents.
Manage the lifecycle of engineering documents, including creation, approval, revision, distribution, and archiving.
Maintain accurate records of all document versions, approvals, and transmittals.
Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and clients to ensure timely exchange and accuracy of documents.
Ensure that all documents are formatted, named, and filed according to internal standards and project-specific requirements.
Train staff on document control policies and software tools.
Track deliverables and ensure deadlines are met for document submissions.
Work with compliance and quality assurance teams to ensure documentation aligns with regulatory and ISO/QA standards.
Perform regular audits and quality checks of document control systems.
Implement, use and manage document control software systems (e.g., Aconex, SharePoint, Autodesk Vault, ProjectWise, etc.).
Support project close-out activities including the preparation of final document packages.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in document control or records management, preferably within an engineering or technical environment.
Strong knowledge of document control procedures, standards, and systems.
Proficiency with document management software and MS Office Suite.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
