Job Title: Training Instructor
Location: Orlando, FL
Department: Maintenance Technical Training
Reports To: Manager of Quality Control & Technical Operations Training
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: The Training Instructor facilitates training for all Technical Operations personnel and ensures that they remain current to perform their duties. The Training Instructor reports to the Manager of Quality Control & Technical Operations Training
Essential Functions:
- Participates in the Company's Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with the responsibilities detailed in the Safety Management System Manual
- Complete Initial Level 2 SMS Training and maintain currency as outlined in the SMS Manual, Chapter 4
- Facilitate training to ensure that all Technical Operations personnel (including maintenance providers and inspection personnel) are fully trained and competent to perform their duties
- Revise and develop Technical Operations Training Courses in accordance with course outlines in the National Airlines Technical Operations Training program
- Develop training Aids and other Course Materials enhancing the training modules in the National Airlines Technical Operations Training Program
- Develop, maintain, and update the Technical Operations Training Learning Management System (LMS) Courseware and electronic documentation for initial and recurrent training requirements
- Ensure training documentation and currency tracking of Technical Operations personnel are current and updated through Auditing measures
- Schedule the required Ground Training events contained in the National Airlines Approved Technical Operations Training Programs, making sure of training facilities and instructor availability
- Notification of the DOM and DQC of any employee lapse in currency for failing to complete a required training event as scheduled
- Develop procedures, controls, process measurement, and interface to track training effectiveness and processes of the National Airlines Technical Operations Training Program
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Technical Operations Training or DQC
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must pass a background check which may include a pre-employment drug test and criminal history records check (CHRC)
- Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and a record that meets our company’s insurance standards
- FAA Mechanic certificate with Airframe and Powerplant rating required
- Must have 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience
- Must have working knowledge of Aircraft maintenance practices, Aircraft systems, ATA applications, Flight Operations and Dispatch requirements
- Must possess a working knowledge and understanding of the Federal Aviation Regulations (14CFRs), National Airlines approved/accepted, as applicable, manuals and the OpSpecs
- Exceptional communication skills
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Must be able to produce and present a 15-minute sample training presentation
- Working knowledge with E-learning applications
- Proficient with Microsoft products, including but not limited to medium knowledge of Excel
- Ability to work in a team environment and have a positive attitude
- Strong attention to detail
- Must possess or be eligible to possess a valid passport with no restrictions and can work abroad
- Regular attendance and punctuality are required
Physical Demands:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, telephone, copy machine/printer.
· Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
Ability to stand prolonged periods of time
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
· Light to moderate lifting up to 10 pounds.
Work Environment:
· Moderate noise (i.e., business offices with computers, phones, printers, and overhead lights).
· Ability to work in a confined office or open cubicle environment
