Job Summary
Leads the Federal Programs Department, including grant projects that are coordinated under the the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Leads the development and implementation of federally funded projects with an emphasis on budgeting, planning, system improvements, state monitoring, and audits. Supervises the development of new processes, and procedures to increase efficiency.
Essential Functions
1. Supervises and trains assigned district staff, conducts performance appraisals, makes employment recommendations, and coordinates work assignments.
2. Ensures that federally funded activities are in compliance with district policy and procedures, Florida Statutes; State Board of Education Rules; Financial and Program Cost Accounting and Reporting for Florida Schools; and federal guidelines.
3. Assists in development and establishment of procedures and practices efficiently record, summarize, report, and analyze results of fiscal transactions.
4. Establishes and maintains internal controls which meet accounting, monitoring, and audit standards.
5. Plans and assists in providing accurate, timely financial information for fiscal management of traditional public, public charter, and private schools.
6. Prepares, coordinates, and assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
7. Coordinates the fiscal aspect of completing ESSA applications, monthly reporting, project manager and school support, and year-end closing processes.
8. Serves as department team lead for SAP implementation, training, testing, and suggestions for upgrades.
9. Serves on committees and teams associated with areas supervised and represents the District in implementing the District’s goals and Strategic Objectives.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Three (3) years public school administration and/or training and experience in business management and accounting.
