POSITION: EL Coordinator/Coach REPORTS TO: Superintendent and Principal CLASSIFICATION: Certificated WORK YEAR: 185 DaysSchool Year 2024-25SALARY: SALARY: Certificated Teacher Salary Schedule PRIMARY FUNCTION: Under the general supervision of the Superintendent and Principal, provides leadership, coordination and evaluation for state and federal and special programs. Supports the implementation of the District’s curriculum and English Language Development (ELD) Program. Ensures that District educational programs provide every student equal access to the curriculum and addresses issues of ethnicity, language, culture and underserved student populations. Provides leadership in closing the achievement/access gap for students and sustaining student achievement. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: The EL Coordinator/Coach exercises broad discretion in the supervision and implementation of assigned programs. The position involves high visibility with students, staff, parents and the community at large. Supervision and evaluation are provided by the incumbent to designated staff in assigned programs. REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES: -Provides support in implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the ELD program within the context of the State and Federal accountability programs. -Provides leadership and assistance with instructional and special programs planning, organization, implementation, and evaluation. -Coordinates the design, development, implementation and continuous improvement of curriculum, instructional strategies and services for English language learners and other special program participants. -Provides assistance to the Superintendent and Principal in maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and procedures relating to categorical/special programs. -Coordinate school activities to promote the goals and objectives of the ELD Program -Plans and provides staff development to certificated and classified personnel

Minimum of 3 current letters of recommendation Appropriate Teaching Credential Required Copy of College Transcripts Masters Degree preferred

Salary Info

Appropriate Placement on Certificated Teacher's Salary Schedule (Up to 15 years of service credit)

Comments and Other Information

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: -Minimum of five years of classroom experience, including experience working with English learners -Experience working with instructional coaching supports and special programs at the school and/or district level -Experience with curriculum development and assessment/evaluation procedures -Experience with leading staff development activities LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: -Valid California State Teaching Credential -Cross-cultural Language Academic Development Certificate (CLAD) or equivalent -Valid California driver’s license
