Summary
Serves as a pharmaceutical team resource and a member of the department's initial support for the assigned Epic application and end-users. Provides guidance and review of high risk medications, medication ordering processes, workflows including dispensing and clinical monitoring. Work requires an understanding of the context and the relationships between operations and Epic related system, in addition to understanding the basis for current configurations in order to resolve moderately complex problems. With a deepening knowledge, begins to specialize in a particular area of a broad process.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a resource for the Epic Beacon/Willow application with knowledge of assigned workflows, configurations, and integrations.
Partner with end-users and clinical stakeholders to analyze workflows, identify system gaps, and propose solutions aligned with Epic standards.
Perform moderately complex build/configuration (rules, templates, user security, workflows), adhering to protocols and change control.
Conduct testing, prepare documentation, and support build migrations with ISD teams.
Triage and resolve moderately complex tickets; perform root cause analysis and coordinate with technical teams.
Coordinate implementations and integrations with devices, vendors, and non-Epic applications.
Support upgrades and ongoing maintenance, including release note review, testing, and regulatory-driven updates.
Communicate regularly with super-users, managers, and project stakeholders; present technical issues in clear, non-technical terms.
Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to end-users and less experienced team members.
Manage assigned project work and support team initiatives to ensure deliverables are met.
Participate in Epic user groups/forums and stay current with Epic functionality and best practices.
Qualifications
License Required
Pharmacist
Certification/Registration
Required: Epic certification in first CORE application (Willow, Willow Ambulatory, Beacon Oncology, or similar).
Preferred: Non-Epic specialty certifications, Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, Epic certifications in ancillary applications.
Work Experience
Required: 3 years as a hospital or ambulatory pharmacist; experience advising users on technical issues and training end-users.
Preferred: 3 years of Epic/EHR application support (builds or template management); operational experience in oncology, pharmacy, ambulatory, or inpatient; super-user experience with an EHR.

Strong knowledge of Epic applications and subject matter expertise in supported operations.
Ability to define/manage goals, educate users, and lead by example.

Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
