Job Summary:

The Director of Production oversees the efficient and effective production of work across all departments of the design studio, ensuring seamless execution of deliverables from concept through delivery. Partnering closely with the EVP of Development, internal teams, and external vendors, this role leads the Production Management team in delivering complex, large-scale projects across Falcon’s portfolio of theme parks, hospitality venues, bespoke food & beverage and retail, and resort environments. The Director of Production provides strategic oversight of design and development initiatives, integrating the expertise of specialty designers, fabricators, and vendors in scenic, lighting, AV, and ride systems to create immersive, world-class guest experiences. This includes providing guidance and insights to the sequencing of tasks department to department, software & pipeline selections and packaging decisions to drive best results. In addition, the Director of Production will aid company leadership in determining accurate proposals for new projects leveraging real-world data derived from team-wide capabilities.

Essential Functions:

  • Integrate and manage all aspects of creative design production from initiation to closure, ensuring cohesion across teams, timelines, deliverables, and processes.
  • Lead the Production Management team, fostering individual growth and encouraging professional development for direct reports.
  • Develop workflows for handoffs between design steps and/or departments that contribute to the completion of specific deliverables. 
  • Review, organize, and optimize the execution project scopes to align with business objectives and client expectations, while pursuing excellence in outcomes.
  • Develop, maintain, and report accurate production schedules, adjusting proactively to shifting priorities or constraints, when necessary, while working collaboratively with studio team members and project management team.
  • Provide input to project design costs, through accurate resource allocation forecasting and tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure quality standards are embedded into project processes and deliverables, reflecting a commitment to care and continuous improvement.
  • Document and develop high-level reporting for senior leadership highlighting production statuses and key risks to delivery.
  • Identify, assess, report, and mitigate process risks, guiding teams through uncertainty with sound judgment and a proactive mindset.
  • Aid company leadership in generating accurate proposals for new bids, leveraging real-world data derived from team-wide capabilities.
  • Support and model healthy work/life balance, both personally and across the team, to foster sustainable productivity.
  • Champion individuality and diversity, encouraging team members to contribute their unique perspectives to shared goals.

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).  Advanced degrees or other relevant certifications are welcomed.
  • 10+ years of proven project management, production management, or producing experience with relevant background in the Themed Entertainment industry managing development of multiple large-scale projects.
  • Required proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and project management software (ACC, MS Project, Smartsheet). 
  • Preferred experience with Bluebeam, Jira, Aconex, and/or Flow Production Tracking (ShotGrid).
  • Preferred experience collaborating with the following departments: Interior Design, BIM/Facility Architectural Design, Showset Design, 3D Arch-Vis, Unreal Engine Development, Narrative Design, Project Management
  • Proven experience generating and ideating upon complex, cross-disciplinary workflow processes with the ability to act decisively under pressure and make quick decisions. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills — able to engage and influence diverse stakeholders 
  • Proven leadership experience overseeing dedicated team to collectively guide production of large, cross-functional departments and resources.
  • Experience with vendor contracting and procurement processes.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, and weekends, as project demands require.
  • Must be comfortable with business-related international travel as project demands require.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America.
  • Will not require Falcon’s Treehouse, LLC to commence (“sponsor”) an immigration case to be employed (now or in the future).
