Tidewater was founded in 1983 as an industrial hygiene (IH) and environmental consulting services provider in Baltimore, Maryland. Today, Tidewater has over 140 employees performing work across three divisions involving environmental consulting, facilities, and construction. Our environmental division includes consulting, remediation, radiological, and IH service lines. Tidewater is headquartered in Elkridge, Maryland. We currently have eight offices throughout the United States including California, Ohio, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania with additional personnel working in Japan, Kenya, and Germany. Our business spans over 75 multi-year government contracts and an average of 1,000 projects annually for Federal, State, municipal, and commercial clients worldwide.

Tidewater’s IH Service Line has been a key component of the business since the beginning, providing lead, asbestos, and mold assessments; hazardous material surveys; abatement monitoring; indoor air quality testing; drinking water surveys; worker exposure assessments; Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Pre-Occupancy testing; and compliance audits for a variety of clients. Key IH Service Line clients include U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, local agencies including Baltimore, Prince George’s, Ann Arundel, Howard counties, City Government, Educational Institutions, and Private Clients (construction firms and architectural firms). Our IH group is comprised of multi-disciplinary staff (CIH, Certified Safety Specialists, Environmental Scientists, etc.) with requisite professional, state, and local certifications.

Responsibilities Include:
1. Maintenance & Inspection
- Conduct routine inspections and annual preventative maintenance on fuel systems, including USTs, ASTs, day tanks, pumps, dispensers, polishers, transfer systems, and control panels.
- Verify compliance with manufacturer specifications and operational standards.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve minor discrepancies.
- Clean, calibrate, and replace components such as level sensors, floats, valves, filters, and pressure regulators.
- Test fuel quality, system pressures, and performance; record findings accurately.
2. Reporting & Documentation
- Complete detailed trip reports for each site visit, including observations, maintenance performed, discrepancies, and parts required.
- Develop and update Bills of Materials (BOM) with part numbers, lead times, and pricing.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and checklists.
- Support proposal development and administrative tasks when not deployed.
3. Remote Support
- Provide remote troubleshooting assistance to clients within 24 hours of request.
- Offer technical guidance for corrective actions on active contracts.
- Maintain strong customer service communication to foster long-term client relationships.
4. Safety & Compliance
- Strictly adhere to safety protocols, including PPE usage, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and electrical safety.
- Ensure all work meets manufacturer instructions and site-specific safety standards.
- Report any safety incidents or near-misses promptly and participate in investigations.

Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Hands-on experience in maintenance, repair, and installation of fuel systems (USTs, ASTs, day tanks)
- Valid U.S. Passport & ability to travel internationally (approx. 2 weeks/month)
- Strong technical documentation and communication skills
- U.S. Government Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one
- Residency in the DMV area (DC, Maryland, Virginia) for periodic office reporting
