Plus3 IT Systems is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Systems Administrator to join our technical operations team. This role is ideal for an individual with foundational IT knowledge and a strong desire to build a career in systems administration and cloud operations. You will be responsible for providing reliable support and maintenance for internal IT infrastructure and contributing to the stability of mission-critical systems. This role is full-time onsite and not eligible for remote.
What You’ll Do:
- System Maintenance: Assist in the routine administration, maintenance, and monitoring of internal servers, applications, and networking infrastructure (both on-premises and cloud-based).
- User Support & Troubleshooting: Serve as a primary point of contact for technical support, resolving escalated helpdesk tickets related to hardware, software, user access, and network connectivity issues.
- Provisioning & Access: Manage user accounts, access controls, and provisioning/de-provisioning of equipment and software licenses.
- Security & Compliance: Support the implementation of basic security protocols, including vulnerability patching, endpoint protection, and adhering to compliance policies under senior guidance.
- Documentation: Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, including asset inventories, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and user guides.
- Automation Support: Assist senior administrators in developing and testing basic automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to improve operational efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI with CI Poly Security Clearance (or scheduled for CI Poly)
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline
- 0-3 years of hands-on experience in IT support, help desk operations, system administration, or related technical roles
- Demonstrable understanding of Microsoft Windows Server environments (Active Directory, Group Policy)
- Foundational knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs)
- Experience troubleshooting common Windows/Linux OS issues and hardware failures
- Proven ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users
- U.S. Citizenship is required for federal contract support
Preferred Skills:
- Active Certifications (e.g., Cloud Certifications, Security+ or other IAT II/III level certifications)
- Familiarity with basic concepts and services from a major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Basic proficiency in a scripting language such as PowerShell or Python.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position and work days are Monday through Friday. Specific work hours are established with Team Lead. Work location may vary, including onsite requirements which are outlined in the requirements and confirmed with Team Lead.
