The Director, Talent Development & Culture is a strategic leader and key member of the HR leadership team. They are responsible to design and execute firm-wide and BU specific learning, leadership, and culture initiatives that foster a culture of continuous learning, employee growth, leadership development, and a high-performance, inclusive culture. Reporting to the CHRO and working within our highly collaborative culture, the ideal candidate will lead a core team as a player-coach to facilitate the exchange of ideas and building of talent. They will collaborate closely with HR Business Partners, other HR colleagues, senior leaders, and managers across business units and strategic resources to design and deliver impactful processes and programs that align with business goals and colleague needs.
Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
Learning & Development
- Lead the creation and delivery of global learning programs, including technical, compliance, manager effectiveness, and professional skills training.
- Partner with HRBPs and business stakeholders to identify skill gaps and development needs.
- Facilitate development and learning sessions, including content development and delivery.
- Utilize LMS and digital platforms to scale learning solutions and track impact.
- Establish and integrate learning metrics and analytics to evaluate program effectiveness, foster a culture of continuous improvement, deliver insights and assess progress against strategic goals.
Leadership Development & Coaching
- Design and deliver tiered leadership development programs for senior, mid-level, and emerging leaders, both within BUs and also firm-wide.
- Partnering with internal clients, oversee executive coaching, mentoring, and experiential learning programs and serving as a coach to senior leaders, as needed.
- Collaborate with external partners to enhance leadership offerings and assessments.
- Strategically lead the firm’s relationships with executive coaches, outside leadership speakers, outside leadership development partners and programs.
Culture & Engagement
- Align people and culture initiatives with organizational mission, vision, and values.
- Drive employee engagement efforts, including surveys, action planning, and recognition programs, in partnership with HR Business Partners, BU leaders and managers.
- Champion initiatives that reinforce company values and foster an inclusive workplace, including onboarding, recognition, team effectiveness, and offboarding.
- Provide guidance, coaching and oversight to firm’s four Alliances, co-chairs and executive sponsors.
- Collaborate with HR BPs and leaders to embed inclusive practices into development and culture programs.
Talent Strategy & Organizational Development
- Partner with HR Business Partners and BU leaders to develop and implement a comprehensive talent development strategy aligned with business goals, assess capability gaps and design talent development solutions.
- Provide strategic input into organizational design and change management initiatives to support transformation and growth.
- Design and development of succession planning and high-potential identification processes, in partnership with the HR Business Partners.
Team Leadership & Operations
- Serve as a member of the HR leadership team, with the CHRO and other Directors, to strategically guide the function, inspire the team, align to business goals and priorities, and drive success.
- Lead, manage and develop a high-performing team of five fostering collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and external partnerships to support learning and development.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards across regions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Education or related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required (Master’s preferred).
- 12+ years of progressive HR experience, including learning, leadership strategy and talent development roles, ideally also experience as an HR Business Partner.
- Experience in financial services or similarly complex, regulated industries preferred.
- Professional training credentials preferred such as: CPTM, CPLM, CTDP or CTP.
- Experience leading global teams, implementing enterprise-wide programs, and programs in geographies outside of the United States.
Skills & Competencies
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, strong project management skills and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Capable of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously to ensure timely delivery and alignment with strategic goals.
- Expertise in adult learning theory, needs assessment tools, instruction design methods, and blended learning strategies.
- Facilitation certification in MBTI, the Big Five Personality Test, CliftonStrengths and/or DiSC is preferred.
- Proven success designing and implementing leadership development and inclusive culture programs.
- Proficiency in LMS platforms (Workday Learning experience preferred), e-learning tools, and digital learning technologies.
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to lead change, influence culture, and drive performance across diverse teams.
A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range at time of posting is below. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. Actual base salary within the specified range is based on several factors, including but not limited to applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, specific degrees and certifications, job responsibilities, market considerations and, if applicable, the location of the position.
This role is eligible for either a discretionary annual bonus (based on company, business unit and individual performance) and/or commission-based incentives.
