Responsibilities
- Integrate the departments various short and long-range plans with department-wide objectives to meet corporate and/or regulatory requirements.
- Direct O&Rs demand side portfolio development and implementation, contract negotiations, settlements and dispute resolution, and manage multi-million-dollar portfolio budget.
- Oversee various aspects of the demand side management programs, including strategy and planning, program management, operations support, engineering, inspection and related functions.
- Ensure continuous operational and process improvements.
- Communicate corporate and departmental expectations and motivating staff including morale building and culture development.
- Proven track record in both managing a large and diverse team as well as building an innovative and entrepreneurial culture.
- Partner and collaborate to develop networks, build alliances, engage in cross functional activities and find common ground with stakeholders.
- Provide thought leadership and direct the delivery outcomes of the teams to meet city and state policy goals.
- Recruit, develop and retain an engaged and diverse workforce by actively support the professional development of team members.
- Build and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders as well as key industry leaders and external stakeholders such as New York State Public Commission regulators and staff, New York State Energy Research and Development, Mayors Office, and Low Medium Income advocates.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices.
- Performs other related tasks and assignments as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and 8 years Related work experience
- Master's Degree and 6 years Related work experience
- Experience managing individuals, teams and projects. Required
- Proven leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to drive results by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to build consensus. Required
- Strong writing and oral communications skills. Required
- Proven range of presentation skills to various audiences, including customers, teams, executives and industry stakeholders. Required
- Strong analytical skills. Required
- General knowledge of distribution systems, as well as the gas and electric planning and forecasting processes. Required
- Familiarity with New York State and New York City's clean energy/climate policy goals. Required
- Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to see the big picture and attention to detail. Required
- Experience in vendor oversight, including contract development, monitoring and performance assessment. Required
- Experience in planning and managing budgets. Required
- Ability to make decisions in real-time, under pressure. Required
- Computer literacy with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Required
- Experience in customer engagement to drive desired participation. Required
- Experience in regulated and/or market driven DSM utility programs. Required
- Leadership experience with running/managing complex businesses or initiatives or other technical/ regulated programs or projects. Preferred
- Experience in Energy Efficiency services/solutions strongly preferred. Preferred
- Driver's License Required
- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
